i mean it looks awsome and i love it but i was just comtemplateing as to its true purpose,so does anyone have an idea?

Its so if he needs to take a nap he's got a blanket to keep him warm. Duh.....
If but for no other purpose than what you just said, "It looks awesome and I love it" is all that matters to me!
If there was an actual purpose, that would be an interesting fact to know...
lmao nice xfettx
Funny enough it was supposed to be worn as a shawl type thing. He pulls it around front and attaches it to the other side.FYI
Purpose? I think it is part of his colors. Like wearing your flag.
Function: None
to hide whether he's pointing that rocket at a jedi's head?? Use to pop over someones head it he needed to take the alive? Wipe his nose? clean his gun? Improvised garrotte? Mando security blankie?
OH OH I know it's soaked in a special solution so if you suck on it it provides you with much needed vitamins and minerals ( so that's what happened to the ESB cape)![]()
wow never thought fett the type to pull off the shawl lmao thanks Boomer!!!
lol this is spawning some very nice answers
His cape is actually a magic carpet for when his jet pack is out of order.
so thats how he got out of the sarlacc, his magic carpet!!!! lmao
Actually, when he was in the Supertrooper phase, it was made out of a towel. I think that says it all right there. A little sweaty? No problem. Need a shower? No problem.![]()
It's his blankie(blanky?) from back when he lost his dad...
If it is indeed a towel it could go back to the thousands of uses for a towel from Hitchhikers Guide
O.o Boba...with a blankie?????? the most bad***** guy in the SW universe...uses a blankie!!!....well i guess the Slave1 might get a bit cold sometimes, its not exactly a pleasure yacht is it now? LMAO great responces ppl keep'em coming!
I think it looks awesome, but I always thought it was kinda dumb because it would catch on fire very easily. The material is pretty cruddy to have holes and what not in it so its probably not fire retardent. I may have to burn my shelter half and see![]()
lmao lets us know how that goes hahaha![]()

When he puts it over his head he turns invisible just like harry potter
so thats how he always sneaks up on bossk, hmm you think youd hear him clanking around in those spurs lmao
It's his pup tent, just in case he doesn't feel like sleeping out in the rain...
lmao im loving all these wonderful answers, some very creative minds here, and the images of fett they inspire are ridiulously funny![]()
The cape is ancient Mandalorian Cellular phone, when used in conjunction with a campfire, one can send messages to other clans by displacing small pockets of smoke as it rises from the fire.
hahahaha nice, smoke signals now, well it was a long time ago lmao
I always suspected it was to hide the fact that he's wearing a thong. But I could be mistaken...
ok that one was good, random but good nice job everyone, keep'em coming we'll get to the bottom of this!
It can be used as a dress for royal parties.
In all seriousness, it was made to hook onto his right shoulder, as PPv1 does. This was to give him the Clint Eastwood look with the poncho.

when i made my version 1 fett my cape was huge! the way it attached it didn't hang longer than the cape actually does, but it was bunched from the center. i could wrap it around me as well as over my head. for practicality, i thought that it worked well. boba could be stuck out in the rain waiting for his prey and pull the cape over him to keep the wet off a little better.
then i found the shelter half and thought, well that doesn't do much.
lol thanx GCN lov the photos, and once again great responces everyone!
My guess would be that the cape could also serve as a form of camouflage; a dirty, ragged piece of clothing is much less conspicuous than his trademark Mandalorian armor, even with the obviously well-known helmet. In particular, his darker color tones would mesh well with a dark location (think the corners of the Mos Eisley cantina, for example.)
Not that Boba Fett really needed to hide, but the element of surprise is always helpful.
Thereīs just one simple use of his cape: Itīs his iron reserve of toilet paper! muhahahaha
;-)
Manuel
mmgraphics man thats hilario
It's his safety blanket, just like Linus on the Peanuts
lmoa maybe its a portable napkin for when he eats dinner, just chew, eat, and reach over and wipe lmao
this to me would be the best answer. Not necessarily to hide armor/helmet, but in order to distort his outlline in darker areas. The US military uses the same solution with their boonie caps etc... In darker areas or busy area (woods lots of buildings etc...) you tend to spot things not by seeing them right away, but by catching a glimpse of something from the corner of your eyes, you further catch it by it's harder outline against the background. Having the cape would distort Boba's outline making him blend more in with darkr areas, and giving him more time to snag you before you spot him.
Toilet paper reserve!
Good one mmgraphics!
