It has not been confirmed yet...AP is waiting for the real confirmation...
CANT TALK ABOUT RELIGION OR POLITICS!
they're not talking about religion or politics..... they're talking about Capt Eo!!!
I was wondering what was taking so long for someone to post this. I'm listening to the best of album as I'm typing and wondering why I sent my Thriller jacket to my estranged mother who as we speak is probably putting it up on ebay.![]()
CNN has confirmed.
AP also confirmes:

this isn't religion, or politics....
But it is confirmed now...
Crazy Guy...but Awesome artist. RIP
I think it is pretty obvious that the man was very eccentric and battled a lot of inner demons in his life. He was also a huge talent and influence on many other musicians. Love and repect to his family and RIP.
Guess I'll pump up the volume and honor him by replaying "Beat it" on expert difficulty in Guitar Hero when I get home.
RIP
Sad Day two greats gone RIP Farrah and MJ
This is why I love TDH...maybe because its MORE ETHICAL here than at RPF. So far 1 topic bashing the guy...and then tons of posts by absolutely ignorant people with ill and lude remarks at the RPF.
THANK YOU TDH for not stooping to the level of that...
The man was an incredible artist...without a doubt...Demons he had, and he lived with him...only one person can judge him...and hes before him now..
Wow! I heard this news on the way home from work! This is crazy! The King of Pop is gone!Wierd, yes. But he was BAD! I had a Thriller jacket also...wish I knew where it was
![]()
Rest in Peace Mike and Farah
He is both a religion and politics. nothing is sacred![]()
holy poo.
take it easy sally rule ruler.
i was being facetious
Wow I can't believe it!!
I mean, the guy's an icon!
Gutted. Absolutely gutted...
Burn twice as bright, live half as long I guess. His memory and influence will live on for decades.
What a sad loss for all the fans, family and friends, and the world of pop music.![]()
Man! They're playing an AWESOME mix of his music down here on a Miami radio station! Ah, memories! I agree Darth Paul, what an icon!
I honestly am totally shocked and find it hard to believe. Kinda feel how folks felt when Elvis or Marilyn Monroe died- almost impossible to believe. Very sad, enjoyed his music. May Michael finally have peace.
All the other stuff about him aside, the man was a musical genius. Sad day for music.
A tragidy for both his family and the many fans that stayed loyal to his music. He was an inspiration to musicians, music and the marketing machine as well. He will be missed
Very shocking news! Goodbye Michael ,R.I.P and we'll miss you.
I have a Thriller vinyl LP, still in it's wrapper. My dad got it for me back in the day just for the heck of it.
I'm a musician, who never was really into MJ, but you have to respect that talent.
He's not dead. He's just hiding out with Big E, Curt Cobain, Elvis, and Tupac. Duh!
Seriously though, it's a shame that all the good he did in his life is greatly overshadowed by so much negativity, deserved or not.
dont forget to keep his kids in you prayers.....he will be missed but I am sure never forgotten.I am also sure there will be a over inflation of his "stuff" and folks will try to profit on his life....how sad
RIP MJ!!
The King is dead, long live Tito!
Yes, very shocking to hear this news. Yes he did have some problems. Say what you want about him, but you know at some point in your life you tried to do the moonwalk too.
Although his talent and professional accomplishments are amazing, I personally find it VERY hard(as a parent) to celebrate someone "accused" multiple times as a child molester. Is there any other accused molester that we would consider mourning? Not that I can think of. So we let him off the hook because he's an amazing singer and dancer?
Not in my world. My guess is that the parents of these poor children are feeling vindicated. I would also be curious as to Paul McCartney's feelings on this, as he was swindled more than anyone else by this guy.....
Just my 2 cents.....
he had talent , but that does not excuse him from being a pedophile. he paid off parents that threatened to press charges.
no love lost.

How bout let's not post just to be ugly and start arguments. If you can't say something nice, then don't say anything at all. I do NOT want to see this thread not turn into a battle.
RIP MJ...
Love him / Hate him... The guy was a legend in my life time.![]()
Well, shortly after I got out of Basic Training, my band was playing at a Christian Camp for younger kids called Young Musicians Camp...
My mother was the head of their churches group, so me and the band stayed with them in their cabin and such.
Well one girl (little spoiled prissy girl, whos mother literally let her get away with anything) saw it funny to block the door while the bandmates and I were leaving to go practice, when I simply ignored her and proceeded to reach over her to open the door, she slapped me across the face. So being 21 years old, fresh out of boot...I didn't take it too well. I grabbed her by the arm, and proceeded to march her 10 year old keester to my mother when she began to bite me, and hit me more. Her friends began throwing water on me and my band mates as I was marching her to my mother, the churchs leader for the camp, and about the 3rd time she bit me, she wriggled out of my grip and quickly I grabbed her again by the shirt, and pulled her back. By this time, I was so ridiculously frustrated I let her go, and decided to just find my mother without the troublesome child.
Now this childs Mother was there as well, hence her mentality of I can do whatever I want. She runs and tells her mother I was touching her, INAPPOPRIATELY.
Needless to say, I didn't The way she told her mother, was to make it out like I was "molesting" her. Well, my 3 band mates as witnesses quickly disproved that accusation. But it didn't stop the child's mother from continuing to spread that rumor across my parent's church. She stopped only after I threatened to sue her for Defamation of Character.
So in all fairness to the deceased, I was "Accused" so to speak of the same. Did I? NO! Not in any shape or fashion.
Would I let my child stay at Neverland Ranch...not in a million years...but Innocent Until Proven Guilty still stands the test here in America...
Wow....that made me mad just reading it. Little brat.
I totally agree with what you are saying. IMO, the legal system in America is no longer innocent until proven guilty. It is pretty much the exact opposite, and I've seen it many times. MJ had to prove he was innocent because everyone thought and still thinks he was guilty. What I think is really irrelevant, but I wouldn't want any children staying at Neverland.
Either way, he was a great singer, and for that reason, he will be sorely missed.
Kody
Yup, he could sing, and he could most certainly dance. He was a great entertainer...
RIP Mikey!
I was very saddened to hear the news this morning, a true music legend!! RIP MJ
Heart attack at 50...Sounds like the C.I.A. to meeeee !

Having worked in a law firm that represented celebreties from time to time, it's very common with the jet set to simply settle, than to endure the long term cost of litagation. Right or wrong. We have an old saying in business, the higher up you rise, the more they shoot at ya'. People clearly took advantage MJ.
regardless of what Michael was accused of, he was an amazing pop star, and a great dancer, with an awesome stage prescence (sp?)...he was definately (in my opinion) ahead of his time...
my heart & sympathy go out to his family and his children...just think for those that go out and make jokes and lude remarks about his death, that two children are not going to have a daddy for the rest of thier lifethats awful!!! not to mention how other members of his family will miss him as well.
may michael rest in peace..
MJ was one of the most talented artist of my time. I listen to his greatest hits CD almost everyday.
thriller! right now
Here is the post I made on the rpf:
All I know is, being in 5th grade when Thriller was at the peak of it's success, I thought my world would be complete if ONLY I had that jacket.
I can remember watching MTV for hours waiting for the Thriller video to cycle.
And that making of Thriller special, that was the first time I can remember ever seeing behind the scenes make-up artists and professional costumers doing their thing. Needless to say, I was hooked. Loved the werewolf and the zombies. I had dreams of having costumes that cool as a kid for halloween.
I don't particularly call myself a MJ fan, and I don't know very much about all the child molestation stuff. All I know is that from my perspective, he was never the same after the success of Thriller.
But if Rock with You, Billie Jean, Beat it, Thriller, or PYT come on the radio, I'll still dig on them.
Here are some iconic images (thanks to MJ) that played a small part in shaping my love for fx/prop/costume related work. (Well, maybe not that last pic).
.
I've always thought talking about the good things about a dead guy is good.....but would we be doing this for OJ Simpson????
Just because the courts couldn't find him guilty didn't mean he wasn't and there was just one to many people who charged him with it....and he setteled with a few of them.....to me that's an admition of guilt king of pop or not a pedifile should not be praised

i think as long as nobady is offending enyone here, they can post any commemt . so just like everybody said the good things they can say the bad things this is a forum for discussion . remember this is still us not cuba. imo
Three celebrities in one week. I guess the myth is true...they die in threes. RIP to Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, and Micheal Jackson.
Really? Really? Since you know all these facts, do you know that instead of trying him criminally, they went for money? I'm sure you know that already, though, right? If I thought someone molested one of my kids, (after I go after them with a bat), I would be trying to get that person put away. I wouldn't just be suing for the money, like what happened here. And that may be what the courts saw as well.Just because the courts couldn't find him guilty didn't mean he wasn't and there was just one to many people who charged him with it....and he setteled with a few of them.....to me that's an admition of guilt king of pop or not a pedifile should not be praised
As Gilmore mentioned earlier, another website has had people making the most horrible comments and yet they know nothing about the cases that occurred. So people speaking without knowing really bothers me.
Anyways,
Thank you for the music. I know you're moonwalking up in the clouds right now.
Remo Locke not to get into it with you personally but your argument works both ways my friend. There's no smoke without any fire. Who says it wasn't MJ who instigated the cash pay off? But I won't sing praise to any child molesters regardless of their prior life achievements. That one (in this case many) acts are unforgivable. I too would simply take to this mungrel with a drill and pliers.
Any healthy discussion is comprised of good and bad issues so don't take it soooo personally as it isn't you.
My thoughts go to his kids growing up having to endure his negative legacy, their innocent in all of this but they will suffer non the less.
Ok first please don't insult me and try to make it seem like i know nothing of what i talk about......
i have studied this case real close......now sure there probably was a few bandwagon jumpers to this but not all....
you say who wouldn't try to bring this guy down and take money instead of trial......i think after the catholic church thing we know people will take the money......but regardless of that most parents wouldn't wanna drag a child threw the courts and destroy their child's life........can you imagine doing that to your child the media ripping them not to mention MJ's very own fans.....the kids that will mock and tease....so no to me taking money is not a cop out but a last resort punishment........
p.s. well said BH
and i wouldnt have said anything eles on this except for the fact he try to make is seem like i talk without thinking
I was just checking out itunes and saw Michael Jackson had the top 5 spots on there top 100 album downloads, and even more crazy he's on there 22 times. So out of 100 albums he takes up 22% of the list. Craziness
