Mandalorian Movie Project

Hey all, im new to the forum so bare with me. I love filming and Star Wars, so i have decided to do both at once. I plan on making a fan-film based on the Mandalorians, particularly Jaster, Jango and Montross. It is going to be a squad based film, becasue i was only able to find 8 guys including myself that is willing to set up armor. If any of you are interested in assisting please contact me at armysecondranger@hotmail.com . the only problem is i live in Ventura, CA, USA(so it may be hard for some of you to participate and lend your knowledge). if you guys have any suggestions to make about movies or about movies i am happy to take them, but it will take me a while to film, capture, edit and put on youtube to share. Another movie idea i would like to do is based around the game KOTOR, so if you have any ideas, don't hesitate.
Thanks

You could do 3D animated space scenes and effects pretty easily, if you find a good enough modeler/animator and graphics/visual artist. I wish I could volunteer my services, but I'm not all that great at the animation part yet, and I'm already working on a couple commissions.

Check out these two places:
http://www.scifi-meshes.com/
http://www.scifi3d.com/

Trust me, if you need to find someone to do 3D stuff, it's on of those places. Especially scifi-meshes.com. It's one of the premier forums for 3D modeling and animation. Just check out the gallery for yourself.

Thanks, i wasn't originally going to have any animation besides explosions and blaster fire. im going to try and film one of the scenes in a plane(to have a dropship look) and have a green screen around it to edit in environment, blaster shots, explosions, etc. i'll look at the sites further later today, but thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge and resources.

I was also wondering about weapons to use in the movie. i have a few things that may work, but im not too sure since there is no real record(that have photos or descriptions) that i have been able to find of Mandalorian weaponry. i so far have a replica EE-3, 2 E-11s (one resin the other a hasbro), a modified MP5 with a modern stock(it has a modern rail system and you can't tell its a MP5, the stock looks like some of the stocks of blasters i have seen), a de-militarized British Bren Gun(for heavy blaster), a de-militarized Spanish Bazooka(enemy/mandalorian weapon depending on the area i can find and dig trenches), a L.A.W. tube(Light Anti Tank weapon tube/used during Vietnam), hopefully a chane-gun(modeled after the one seen in CLONE WARS/ heavy weapon), and a modified AK-47. For grenades i have found PVC pipe connectors that look almost like sonic grenades.
If any of you guys have any suggestions for blaster rifles/pistols and heavy weapons or anything random that would be cool it would be very helpful.

Re: Mandalorian Movie Project

well o am halfway done with my script, take a look: Mandalorian Bounty Hunters

First Scene (Dream/prediction):
This is from Jango Fett’s view of an up-coming mission. It is a view from in side of the helmet (first person view) and everything is going wrong and everyone is dying. Jango awakes suddenly from this dream after seeing Jaster die.

Second Scene (Dropship/frighter):

Myles: You okay Fett?

Jango Fett: Yeah it was nothing. (As he looks around the ship he sees all of his squad mates still alive, especially Jaster).

The men then begin to arm their weapons, prime their gear, check each other’s gear for mistakes, and check hole-grams of maps of the area.

Jaster Mereel: Now I want to make this clear, we are after one target and one target only…his name is Tyber Zann, apparently he pissed off a few too many members of the Black Sun, and now its are job to take care of him.

Montross: Easy credits.

Jango Fett: Only if nothing goes wrong…

Montross: Why do you always say that?

Jaster Mereel: Because something always does.

Walon Vau: Not if my little friend has anything to say about it (while doing this he shins his mini-gun).

Silas: You sure that thing’s going to work?

Walon Vau: Don’t worry it’ll work.

Third Scene (Outside view of the dropship closing towards a planet):

Jaster Mereel: Bring us on near the far side of the planet.

Montross: Sure thing.

Forth Scene (Mandalorians quickly dismount as the dropship lefts off into the atmosphere):

Montross: See I told you this would be easy credits.
Fifth Scene:
The Mandalorians are scouting through the forests with Myles at point.

Sixth Scene:

Im not sure what to add at the moment, i may have them stumble across there camp or have a frontle assult and have the pinned down momentarely in a trench as others flank. PLEASE COMMENT.

Looks pretty decent for a start.

I dont believe its 'the black sun' I think its 'members of black sun'.

You need to add something that hooks the audience. The first scene is good. Maybe throw in some deja vu. Things he sees, hears in the first scene you can go back over them as he adds them.

Like. One of the mercs putting a 'red handprint on his helmet' then a flash into the action sequence of the bloody helmet there, with the hand print on it'.

Also, you should set the pace of the movie, and then follow it up with supporting.

Its either a mile a minute, or a crawl of paranoia.

Id like to hear more of it. I have a really good idea for a mando movie, but ive got one set of mediocre armour, and thats not enough so mines on hold.

Keep the ideas coming.

ciao

thanks for the comment, i wasn't sure how i was going to play out the whole scene(its hard to get the ideas from my head onto paper. i've never heard of the read hand print, where is it from? where do you live anyway, maybe you could be part of my movie, then I can help out with yours. then you'll have 6 guys to add to your movie.just depends on where you live?

Re: Mandalorian Movie Project

I am also planning on purchasing the Open Season comics from Drak Horse, so i can base some of the dialog based on the looks and actions of the characters, also to base the armor off of the comics. The characters im planning on using are; Jaster Mereel, Montross, Jango Fett, Silas, Myles, and Walon Vau.
