Makan's Master Chief Armor (WIP) (PICS)

Makan

Hunter
So its not star wars related, but it is futuristic!!!

I am still working on the helmet. My idea is to build the skeleton out of paper/poster board using pepakura, bondoing over it a few times, removing the paper skeleton, re-inforcing the inside with fiberglass, sanding the outside down smooth, adding clay for the details, and finally making a mold for casts...wow that was a lot! I'll be doing all of this for each piece of armor. \

Anyways.....here's some pictures to look at!!!

Hi,

I am new to TDH but someone pointed me into this direction that another member here was working on a MC project!! I see that you have finished a Halo2 model from pep and let me tell you that you did a great job! Was wondering if you figured out the scaling on that thing and did it fit your head when you finished it? I am also working on a MC while I await parts for my Boba suit to arrive and it is very time consuming but fun.

I currently have the arms, shins, chest/back, also a CQB version helmet as well as MC Halo3 version done. You can see my progress a bit in my avatar. But if you want a bigger picture I can also show you that as well!

Its nice to see that you made this good progress this far as it took me about 2 months to even get it put together in Pep...(didn't know what I was doing) But show some more WIP cause its going great so far!!

For real man, any more updates?

Also WetOkole, it looks like a MarkVI helmet in your avatar?? have you got a pic of the CQB?

Yeah its a MKVI, but I might have to re-phrase what I said...I do have a CQB, its done, (bondo, smoothing out and such) I just have to add the double visor but the visor doesn't sit well and I am just plain stuck. Should I post a pic here (I really don't want to threadjack) or do I have to start another topic??

I see what you are saying about threadjacking (I feel bad doing it as I type this) but I'd say just start your own thread under the Sarlacc Pit to keep track of updates and progress on your Spartan armor. Posting a pic of your helmets here wouldn't hurt, as I'm sure it would help to encourage Makan. Just keep a separate thread for your own progress, I guess.

How do you mean "double visor"? It's all one piece right, no separate lenses (like the Rogue). If I recall correctly the CQB is the helmet that is slightly reminiscent of Clone helmet right? One piece visor, that has a sort of Y or T shape?

Ok...just because I don't want to feel like I am threadJacking, Maken I can show you of a pic what I have when I was done with only my Left side. I have not taken a pic with the other body parts since I am waiting for my pressure suit to arrive. But here is what I have and hopefully you can finish your suit for Halloween, keep up the great work

You might be able to see where I would have to add another visor to give it that raised look. You can see that I used a double visor on my MKVI helmet.

Oh yeah, I see it now. Basically you just used two visors and cut a portion out of one, and layered them? I always wondered how someone would go about doing that raised look thing.

i see that you used posterboard.

what thickness did you use? is it a thinner drawing/inking paper or is it actually compressed cardboard posterboard?
