level 2 snow emergency= no work for me!!

Wow, sorry to tell you I am in sunny So Cal and it is Spring-Like today. The pictures are beautiful. I am affected a bit by the storm. At work I have coordinate trucking and export to China. So far St Louis is complete shut down, can't work at all.

And other in the mid-west are also paralyzed.

Crazy weather!

I have a couple of friends in Cleveland, and they told me it was snowing quite hard!! What's unlucky for me, is that my AP stormtrooper is stuck in Grove City, OH according to FedEx, haha. Now I have to wait another day because of YOUR weather, thanks guys ;)

ahh, we missed most of the lovely snow today, thank goodness. I'm in the Chicago suburbs and we were supposed to get a dusting and we ended up with about 3 inches...lousy weathereman. I wish I could get paid to be right 25% of the time :p

also, last week it was -27 degrees F, actual temp, in my town.

Last week we got -40... and believe me the only thing funny about -40 is that it's the same in Celcius or Fahrenheit... **no freezing icon??**

I heard that if it gets too much below zero it cant snow very hard because the air cant hold the moisture. Is there any truth to that??

Can't say for sure but I believe that is true. Unfortunately there is something called the ''wind factor''. The wind factor is the temperature you feel on your bare skin. Let's just say that when it's -20 degrees celcius and there is a 30mph wind it can go down to -40 celcius. But normally I think that when it's about -20 celcius it rarely snows.

But on that specific day, it was -40 without the wind factor. Oh and btw, when it's -40 there are some people that wake up to a broken windshield and\or mirror.

With the snowfall today, I will be able to make an igloo in my backyard. I shoveled a lot of snow in a big pile (it now stands about 7 feet tall and about 12-14 feet across). I'll try to take some pics tomorrow to show just how much snow there is here.

quoted for montana.

there has to be at least 12" on the ground already and more coming down before we're like, "oh, it snowed."
