Let the clone madness begin
Just took delivery on the #1 set of clone armor from OSCS. :cheering I'll be putting this together with my SGB Neyo helmet. I gotta say, this armor is heavy-duty and sized just right for big folks. Beautiful contours on the thighs. I will be taking my sweet time with this. I'm thinking this will be the last suit I put togther............maybe not. :wacko Thanks to Steelblitz for parts and guidance.:hug

Re: Let the clone madness begin
Some of those accesories look familiar. 8)
That's some sharp looking pulls Kevin made there. Nice and crisp for thicker vacced ABS. I really like the looks of the shins and calves. Nice to see minimal webbing with clean returns around all the edges. Looks like some great stuff!

Re: Let the clone madness begin
Wow, that armour is amazing. That's the best looking kit I've seen since Clone6. I can't wait to see how this goes together.

This is sick armor! I am looking to get a set soon. I like the fact that it will fit us bigger clones!

No, you're the same size as one of the guys who makes the armor and who wore it at CIV. It will fit a wide range of people from what I understand.

Re: Let the clone madness begin
It looks great, I cant wait to see the final product.

Re: Let the clone madness begin
Too close to Christmas for me to get in on the first run, but I hope to get a set in the next run. *crosses fingers*
The armor looks great 5204. :thumbsup I have a few questions.
How did you connect the cod piece to the butt plate?
Looks like you also cut some of the butt armor away from the kidney area, and just left the middle piece sticking up. Why did you do it that way?
I did not know that OSCS was providing a seperate kidney piece to connect to the abb plate. Can you provide some pictures of how the abb and kidney plates connect?
Thanks bro. I'll be following your progress, so be sure to keep us posted.

Re: Let the clone madness begin
The butt plate is tall in the back. Kevin designed it that way, I'm following his directions. The small amount you see on the butt plate on the sides, above the waistline will support and be covered by the belt. I used snaps to attach the cod/butt. Per the directions, the ab/back piece are butt connect/ glued on the sides, then cut down the center of the back, to be mostly covered. Blue tape holding it together. Compare the last pics in post #23 and you'll se belt covers that side plastic. Just for support I guess. I'm working closely with Kevin as I go to make sure I dont mess it up. I confirm what I'm going to do before I cut.

Re: Let the clone madness begin
That armor looks amazing! It is cool how they got it to "look thick". I can't wait to get my set and get working on it. This armor will make an awesome clone, no matter which one you are doing!!

Re: Let the clone madness begin
Awsome! That seamless stuff is hard work, but totally worth the effort in the end.

Re: Let the clone madness begin
Awsome! What brand of white did you use?
-
Re: Let the clone madness begin
I went with OSCS suggestion of Dupli-color for Truck SUV Pure/Linen white. Got it at Kragen. The spray tips are nicer, not like regular spray paint.

Re: Let the clone madness begin
Great Work... It's sad that here in Argentina that armor or another kind of trooper armor cost 3000 dollars (9300 pesos)... That's why I am working in my custom mando...:lol

Re: Let the clone madness begin
Great work, the filled seams came out nice and smooth when painted. :thumbsup

Re: Let the clone madness begin
Wow, the clone is looking great! The seamless look has to be a pain in the behind to do, but looks amazing in the end.
Do you know if OSCS does individual armor pieces? I need to get some for my GM.

He did at one time.

Re: Let the clone madness begin
Nice. :thumbsup
By using a spring pin on the belt, can you put it on by yourself, or do you still need someone to help get the canister on the belt?

Sure can. Put it on to the front with the ab/back, then spin it around and put on the "diaper".:cheering

Re: Let the clone madness begin
Wow, I can't believe how much work goes into a clone vs. a TK. This gives me a new appreciation of how impressive the great clone suits are.
Great work!!!!

Re: Let the clone madness begin
kandosii, ner vod! looking sharp!
my current project is an attempt at some trashcan-style custom mando armor, but i've always wanted to get a set of clone armor.
just curious...i'm still new to this business...where do you guys get these sets of armor from? and are there places that give you good tips on painting styles (for a guy who has no artistic ability whatsoever?) any good places to get a quality bucket too?
ah, not meaning to divert from my real post here, seriously, a great job so far. can't wait for the final product.

Re: Let the clone madness begin
it's by OSCS. I have since sold this suit. I got sick of building it. The armor is great, it's just me. I'm switching to ROTS Vader.
