KING GRAYSKULL (pictures)

Wow. I get home and there was the absolute power of Eternia sitting on my doorstep. Who knew?

I'd been eagerly awaiting this figure for about three weeks now. This was available at SDCC as an exclusive and later sold on the newly launched Mattel online store after the show in limited numbers. I was one of the lucky ones that snagged one online. It only took an hour of crashing... but I gots me some Grayskull.

Mattel is bringing back MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE and to kick things off, they released King Grayskull as figure #1 in their "Classics" line.

As I opened him, I thought to myself, "this is some really nice packaging." Nice graphics. Nice box with removable "Castle Grayskull" slip-cover facade. Beautiful.

So, as I'm slowly removing the slip-cover, I'm hoping it's not the chase. Believe it or not, I DID NOT want the chase. The chase figure is painted bronze color to make it look like the statue of King Grayskull that is found inside of Castle Grayskull. Hence the name. It is at this time that I realize that the sides fold out to look like a castle. Nice touch.

Anyway, I slip my fingers inside the "Drawbridge" door...

More pictures of this awesome figure!!!!!

Also, for the record, I was trying to take pictures of the weapons that are packed with him ( the power sword and shield). I was NOT trying to see up his Eternian loin.

Awesomeness!!! They actually gave him the original 1980's weapons.

Do you have a scale comparison between him and the He-man from Wave 1 from back in '02?

eh I prefer the 80's He-Man, the new symbol, and long hair just make him look bad. the fur cape doesn't help matters any either. but that's just my opinion.

That isn't supposed to be He-Man, it's "king Grayskull" his predecessor... Kinda. They did make a He-Man figure though, that looks more like the 80's version, only more articulated.
