This just reaffirms why I should start investing into a Vader :hs:

First and foremost, I will never take pictures of myself in tight t-shirts AGAIN...for the record, Im working on it:facepalm

I was part of a troop this past weekend in Pensacola for the Ronald McDonald house Plane pull event. Unfortunatly, we never got to pull a plane...they kept finding other replacements for missing spots.:confused

Anyways, one 501st member from Georgia, who trooped as a Vader aloud me to put on some of the gear. Despite the helmet being a tad too tight, everything he had fit me perfectly. My shoulders line up directly with the bells, the cape is just the right length. Although not seen, he had rubies shins which too, fit me perfectly.

*sigh*

For my stats, I am 6'6" tall and 316lbs

Just a hypothetical question- What QUALITY vader parts would someone offer me in a trade for a set of MR westars?

Rubies doesn't have the neck. It's either a Porty or MR most likely.

6'6" is a great height for Vader.

It's a costly suit to do really do up right (mine was about $3K) but you can also just mod the Rubies and get out for well under $2K. It costs no more than a good Fett though.

Although many people don´t like out argentinian friends ... I am very satisfied with the jobs they do on especially vader costumes.

I bought the 3-piece-suit (Trouser, Jacket, vest) because it´s the ultimate suit to move around without stretching etc. Just try to lift both arms in a 1-piece-suit ... it lifts ... not so the 3-piece-suit. It´s pretty accurate in Leather and lining and wears great.

I don´t know if I can post a link here (Admins please delete it if I shouldn´t post any), but here´s a **** good address for vader-parts:

www.customsprops.com

Not cheap rubbisch ... the leather is brilliant and very well worked out.

I have built up my ESB Vader with lot´s of stuff from them ... and it´s really good.

Just have a look.

Manuel

PS: I am not affiliated to those persons, I just wanna help an ongoing Vader ... ;-)

Thanks guys!

Yea, Ive been told to just get the pieces individually over time. I figure I can start at some point, but I just dont have the money for anything at this point. Im lucky that I have gotten as far as I have with the Darktrooper project. I mean, if I really wanted to, I can just start selling my stuff :hs:

vader is a perfect costume for me. i just like boba fett a lot. if i didn't have a boba fett. vader would be the next thing. I'm 6'5" and 205. With the boots on and the extra height from the helmet I don't think there is anything I wouldn't tower over at events.

It's always funny seeing the short vaders though, whether they are 501st or not.
I can understand being too tall for a character, but too short just looks funny in my opinion.

at 6'6" you're in the same boat.

vader is a pretty clear choice. piece by piece or in small lots seems to be the way to go, it will get pretty expensive though.

just like fett a well respected helmet will probably be at least $300.

Add in the soft parts of the suit and it is probably at least $1,500 without armor or accessories

I'm jealous though, I know I won't even think to starta vader for a very long time. Still saving up for my house. Hope to be a home owner before I turn 23.
