I've also been watching your progress over on the RPF... all I can say is "WOW" It's a big undertaking to try and do a costume like this, but it looks like you're pulling it off rather well! Oh and I love the weathering on the helmet

Wow.. My jaw hasn't dropped to the floor in a long time. Could you give us a break down of the material used for the sections you built.

If you have time could you give us a lesson on Time Management to complete such a wonderful project.. This would take me 10 years to finish..

Well. I had very little proffesional help to get this on. Only my Whife helped and she is not so tecnical and dont know what to look for as far as error. So it does not fit perfectoy as it should. I cry when i se the errors.. Because if i were on the outside it whould have been looking perfect.
I also need to raise the shoulders a bit with some foam to make it stand higher. As some of you noticed i had to paid a pair of Robocop feet red..
I knew it whould not work but its better than nothing. The feet thats in progress will be fairly high in the back with a heal. so i am raised up on the back of my foot and the lowest point by the toes. If you look closely you will se that they did this for Darth Vader ep 3 and the LG photo of Iron Man. The chalange will only be to get shoes with such a high heal.

The neck is not atached. I am adding the ABS sheets in layers on a Stormtrooper neckseal. This way i can move my neck and ont be scratched and the details will look sharp.

The pant i used was of the smaller version. I had two laying arround. And she picked the one that was 2 inch to short on both sides. I could not se this when se put it on. But just to inform the correct sized fits perfect.

The midsection plate is in several layers so it gives actullay great movement.

The legs was also good. I atached them to a belt arround my waist.
I will look into some other belt system as i go on.
I will problably also cut a bit more onto the back of the lower leg in between the joints allowing me to better bend my knee. I can walk stair but it is not easy, especially when you can se the **** legde of the stair.

The gloves.. Well as you se they are in foam rubber. Looking into for futur upgrade to make it in ABS plastic so that is hard as well.

For the chest i had an EL sheet it lights up in darker room. In daylight you cant really se it. For the eyes.. Well ... I almost given up i tried so many things to make them light up and keep the visability. I know from wearing this that YOU NEED CLEAR VISABILITY!!! No compromize.

I just typed in "iron man" and set it to "highest first".....but looks like someone bought it so it doesn't matter anymore

I'm floored! Just..WOW! I know it's easy to just see the flaws in something you've made, but you should really be proud of what you and your wife made. I've got to go see that movie!

Gotta say that of all the Marvel comics I bought as a kid Iron Man wasn't one of them but looking at that awesome suit I feel that now I've really gotta see the movie ASAP. Outstanding work dude I'm completely blown away!

you make my helmet look bad. it is the first helmet i have ever made and basically the first costume thing i have ever made. ur costume is inspiring

My only question is why the heck would you want to part with it.That suit would be with me forever.

They look to be all fanboys of the movie, who have done a search on Google and the thread/pics come up in a Google/Google Images search way too easily now a days, so they are seeing your thread and armour, backtracking it here, then becoming members to find out about it. :P

I keep looking at this thread. It shocks me everytime at how good it looks.

Well i had a small apearence at the Norwegian Airshow now last week.
Sadly i had no spotter with me so they could help me correct the suit while weatring.
With the suit on its minimal you can do as long as i dont have a person near me who knows how when to help. It was a sunday and my whife was pissed because i left home one of the few days i am in fact home. hehe
The photos was taken of a proffesional photographer that was there for the event. I did not know he took them untill i found them.

Once looking at the photo I noticed this time i atached the crotch to tight. (To lose ... now to tight.... Argh) so the lower ab plate fell downwards.and revealing a gap. That is now fixed.

The boots i was still in progress after we decided to make a second pair since the first was not satisfactory to my standard. So therfore i had them not on.

Anyway heres a few shots.

Each time i wear it i se way of improving it. Now with the new parts modified and some changed i belive i solved it so it can be easy for the next wearer to wear it without problems.

It's amazing. Surprised some people in the photos are just like "yeah whatever"

I get that sometimes when my buds and I troop in stormtrooper costumes. Some people think it's the coolest thing in the world and other people just keep walking.

THis is so much more complex and I'm amazed at the level of detail you have been able to capture, not to mention turn around time for the whole suit.

It would be interesting to see how you did the lighting for the chestpiece, hands and eyes. it looks like frosted plexiglass. am i correct?
