Imagination + 33,000 Pieces of Lego = Lego Coruscant

A lot of you have spent long hours, days, weeks, and months committing yourselves to your hobby, your passion, your obsession, your costumes and characters, which you enjoy sharing with others. Well, I want to share my hobby, passion, and obsession with you as well.

This is Lego Coruscant. I spent much time, many hours at time, working on it over the course of years, adding to it from time to time and expanding it. I had the city for 10 years until I had to disassemble it at the end of 2009 and put it into storage because I had to move--which broke my heart to a degree.

It is 3.5 feet wide and 8 feet long, and many of the spires are over 2 feet tall, with the scale being one foot = one mile. The tallest spire, the big fat blue one in the back corner on the right side, is 3 foot 2 inches high. The entire city consists of between 33,000 and 34,000 pieces of Lego.

Many of the spires and smaller structures were inspired by some of the actual buildings seen in the prequels, but most of the buildings are actually my own designs.

Go for it. Or buy new ones. YOu want to know how that city started? I pulled out my dusty box of Legos from the corner of my closet and just wanted to see what it would look like if I used all the bricks to make a tall building. So I made one, and liked where it was going, and so took it apart and rebuilt it in a more uniform color and style and liked it...so I built another one. Then another, and then another, etc etc.

Nice! I remember when I was a master with these... I had like every star wars one produced from 2005-2008 a few in 09 and then it cost wayyy to much $$$ so I got into making movie props and sold a lot of my LEGO(s) on ebay to buy tools, silicone, resin, ect. I still have a ton (like 10 huge box's so full that they cracked) that I'm gonna sell soon. But LEGO is what got me into this, there were so many Star Wars minifigs that they didn't have at the time so I would custom sculpt them out of clay and the cast them in resin (or try). Then one day when I was looking up how to cast stuff in resin or mold stuff I came across here and I've been hooked on this site(and making props) ever since. Thank you TDH.com!(...you cost me $100s, )

That's how if always happens, one path leads to another, leaving us to look back in amazement--and thanks--at how we go to the point that we are.

You can get Lego cheap on Ebay, in bulk amounts of bricks. Forget the ridiculously expensive sets in the stores based on popular movies; sets that give you little to no pieces left over after building the model on the box to make your own designs.

My mom wouldn't let me buy Legos either, so I traded her on Ebay for enough Legos to build my city. Problem solved.

Haha! I can post a come back(even though i wouldn't mean it), but then everyone would avoid me at all cost (and younger people might not get it).
