I dislike it when people lie to me.

So as of right now...I'm currently being jerked around by 3 people, who are all lying to me about shipping dates...or at this point ignoring me more or less.


All of the transactions are for hundreds of dollars.


It sucks

I have a couple paypal disputes opened, the 3rd transaction I know I'll end up getting my stuff it's just taking forever and becoming extremely irritating

so far..to be shipped an entire costume i've already been shipped 3 boxes of parts and am now waiting on the 4th...which i was told I'd have last week..and once the week before that.

not to mention i paid this guy in march...

ughhh


anyone else have similar frustration feel free to chime in and relieve some stress

I feel your pain
but from the other end
People claim that they want me to paint for them, or want to buy an item from me.
Then we work out a price and I tell them how to pay
some say they will pay right away & some say they can pay on the first or next week, whatever.
then they never pay & don't even contact me to let me know things have changed.
just like you, hundreds of dollars.

I hope it isnt anyone on this board, ive had nothing but good experiences with all that ive bought from here, all items delivered within the time frame they stated, I must say i was totaly surprised and impressed by this, ive had bad experiences buying over this interwebbie thingie before but not here.

naw, it's RPF and some other specialized prop forum.

even though the one lot from the RPF was a great value...i'd rather just have my money back and forget about it.

It seems like there has been a lot of this going on over at the RPF lately...too bad really. It makes me VERY hesitant to get in on a large run. I guess some guys can't handle that many orders so they dish out fake updates and make people even more upset....

you know where i would be if it were here... sorry to hear that brother...thankfull its not here...too much of that been going on lately...had some situations resolve themselves, however, so...chin up, and stay on top of the seller man, dont give them an inch, looks like they will take a mile...

Happened to me on the RPF before too. Had to file a chargeback with my credit card to get the guy to ship it out. After all of that was pretty dissapointed with what i got.

I think overall evrywhere people are acting a might bit funny about transactions. I used to consider getting people stuff, they'd say I need so-and-so, and I'd get it for them, they'd pay, and I'd send it. Aside from one person I know, I'd never do that again. I even got burned doing that.

Not to mention the cockroaches I got from someone on the RPF. I've never heard of anyone getting roaches in a parcel from someone, but I managed to luck out.

I'm going through something similar and know that a bunch of other people are too with regards to the costume for another Star Wars fixture. We gave all out money upfront to someone who had a good rep and said the kits would be ready soon. Now it's months later for me and even longer for others and there's still no definite date. And it's too late to file disputes, so we have to go on "faith" alone.

I'd not be so upset if it were just a deposit, but this was close to $1K from each of us. I know a poor guy who probably has $3-4K tied up. And we're the bad guys for saying get a move on or give us out money back, apparently.

well, if paypal doesn't do anything for me....because apparently I can't get anything back if they already drained their paypal account I'm going to have to go after them myself.

i've down it before when a guy tried to pull one over from me in ohio for $800 worth of stuff. got the cops and his bank involved and took a nice little trip down there last year. ended up getting about $650 back in the long run.


i really hope it doesn't come to that...it's annoying

I've had a problem where the deadbeat didn't have the funds in his paypal account so paypal withdrew the money straight from his bank account. It can be done !

In my experience, paypal is good to the buyers but terrible to the sellers. I've had people take advantage of me as a seller which is why I ALWAYS put tracking on my parcels. I have over three hundred shipping slips saved because I threw one away that was VERY old only to have the guy scam me the next week.

You really can't trust too many people out there anymore. The only people I trust on the internet are TDH members that I know personally or professionaly. Even then...you really never know.

I think it's lame if that's the excuse.

I lost my automation job earlier this year and I didn't start becoming a criminal because of it. His post count was 1000+ on the RPF so I didn't think it was shady.

MAYBE something happened, but when there is complete severance of communication who knows.

What I do know is...I've always come through on my end of the deal...committing to buy, paying when I said I would AND as a seller...describing things as best I can and shipping when I say I will.

I posted stuff last night, have been PMing people all morning and shipped everything within 6 hours of being paid.

If I can do it, I'd like to think others can do it in 2 weeks....

I just feel that when someone gives you money you should give them what they gave you that money for. I trust the people on here of course....but my Fett is mostly complete...so I don't even do that much business on here anymore.

My brother and dear friend. So sorry to hear of thy woes. It happens to the best of us and makes us better people. This might sound mundane but it is true. Just remember there are a few handful of loyal people like us and "The Sniffer" himself.
