How do you transport your gear safely?
I was just wondering if people could post up some pictures of how they pack and transport their gear. At the moment I have all my body armor and soft parts squeezed into a rather large rolling suitcase which works decently but there is no way to fit the helmet in with it all and i am concerned about transporting it to event (ie.) putting it on airplanes, bus, trains cabs etc. I thought about maybe getting a hat box? but honestly I would feel better with something more secure. Let's see what you all are doing!
THANKS!:cheers

I use this guy right here, you can get it for alot less at Home Depot. It is very easy to roll and is big enough to put everything you have plus more in it. For my helmet, I bought a helmet bag from someone who was doing custom one's over on the 501st boards for about $60 I think.

This is another thread with some other options.

This is what I use; available at your local Lowes for $30. The dimensions are 19.63" x 42.23" x 21.7". One caveat for truck owners on these containers is that you might want to get some bungee cords and tie down the lid as it tends to unlatch from the vibration while on the vehicle.

Re: How do you transport your gear safely?
thanks for the posts. I did check out a 30 gallon stanley at home depot the other day that looked promising. Can any of you 50gallon owners fit your helmet in it as well as the armor?
Re: How do you transport your gear safely?
i can't find the thread searching but i know for a fact there was a huge thread about this and some people and links to some very good rollable storage containers.

thanks a lot. appreciate it.
Re: How do you transport your gear safely?
If you frequent a dollar store, they have good quality bins. "Yours Truly" has bought one and it has the strong smell of plastique....Eeeeeew. Even though it has the scent that the Sniffer himself does not approve, these bins sure do the trick!
Re: How do you transport your gear safely?
If you are going to put your gear into airplanes frequently, I would advise that your get some hard cases like Pelican (maybe there are some other brands that might be cheaper). I have never transported my gear in an airplane but what I normally use is a big plastic bin with no wheels and I will change it very soon because having to transport it by hand is a pain in the a$$. ;)
