Ok, I've been trying to post pics in my WIP, but I can't figure out how to post pics. I know how to push the Insert Image button, but when I do a window comes up and says: "Add Image from URL" and has a space to type in the URL, only problem is, I don't know what the URL is. I know this is a noob quession , but I need help. So to paraphrase, How do I post pics and What is the URL? Thanks.

where do you have the pics saved?..........image shack, flickr or something like that. The URL will be the location of the pic. For instance mine are in image shack.

When I go to post them I don't use the insert image option I just paste a short cut to embed the image like this.........

    Uploaded with ImageShack.us

when you see the uploaded with... at the bottom it means it is a direct embed from the other site.

Ok, I see how that works. Now, is it possible to post pics from just my computer, meaning can I go to my images pick a photo and post it (like I would when I change my facebook account picture) without having to be on image shack or flickr ect. (I'm not on ether of those or any others, but I can get on if I have to. Does it cost anything to be on one of those sites?)

The only way to upload images from your local disc is if you edit or post a new post, then 'Go Advanced' where you hit the 'Manage Attachments' button then select the desired image from your hard drive and then upload. You can choose to insert the image into your text or to simply add the image to the end of your post.

no it doesn't cost anything and they are easy to use, I resisted for a while but eventually just made an account for the ease of things.

Cool so I just click the Go Advanced button then go on from there, Ok. Thanks Man. Thats good, I'm glad they don't cost anything, I mean it's ok if they do but I prefer to not join things I have to pay for. THD is ok because I only would have to pay for something I buy, not just to use the forum its self. I'll look in to getting one any suggestions on one to use? Also, I'm not sure how to put up a profile photo, again strait from the computer. (lets try a pic) Click image for larger version.

For the profile picture go to the top of your opened window and press the 'My Helmet' link. After the new page opens, in the left side you will find a list with options you can edit and change; just look for 'Edit Avatar' and press that link. The second option (upload image from your computer) is what you need, but remember that there are some requirements to upload your image:

Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 120 by 120 pixels or 50.0 KB (whichever is smaller).
The accepted files are .gif .jpg .jpeg .png (image) or .htm .html (web)
If all this works, just press the 'Save Changes' and you're good to go.

For the profile image (this is not the same with the avatar, but you can use the same but bigger image) you have the same options.

    Good luck!
