Which helmet and why?

I'm new here but have been reading a lot about all the helmets. MS1, MS2, MS3, MLC, SGT Fang, etc... Can someone give me a quick rundown of each and what you could expect to pay? I just don't want to end up on Ebay with pile of worthless helmet. Thanks!

Well, posting prices of other peoples' work is generally frowned on.

At a basic level though, if you're getting it on eBay, it's not likely to be any of those you listed. It will most likely be a many-generations-down recast of a mystery helmet.

In my opinion, you really don't want to get the helmet anywhere by here, unless there's an eBay auction running by a member here.

At least then you have a fair idea of what you are getting.

In a very vague sense, most good helmet kits run from $125 - $350ish. That's for unpainted / untrimmed.

Also, look at the "how much should i expect to pay" thread to see a bunch of peoples' posts on this sort of topic.

any of the helmets you listed would work fine! if you go with any of them you won't be disappointed.

sgt fang even updated his helmet. the kit is even better now

definitely stay away from ebay. even for painted helmets that are said complete....you still could get screwed

Sell ya my Don Post 95 for $75. Mint condition. ;)

Check the cargo hold if you are interested.

Yeah stay away from the Ebay. Ill talk about the ones I have since I dont know all that much about the rest.

Sgt. Fang: Has a good bucket and you cant beat the price. It dose need alot of work (even the new ones) but it's good for a starter or vets alike. I like it because it dose need a little extra TLC and it's good for learners.

BM: Great bucket for ESB. Hardly any work for the triming. And BM is outstanding on service. Once painted up it's well worth the money.

With any of the names you said in your post you really cant go wrong. Some might be a little higher in price then others. Some are bigger then others. But since your new (dont know if your new to the costume thing) id go with a SGT. Fang. Like I said above lots of learing can be done on just that bucket.

As you get more experanced with the paints and what not go for a higher priced one. One thing holds true, the more buckets you paint the better you get at it. So dont expect your first paint job to come out perfect.

If you get lost just ask, thats why TDH is here.

But use the search first.;)
