Hi fellow Mandalorians! Just wanted to introduce myself now that Iv'e probably read a hundred or so posts... Following the rule of thumb of "Two ears to one one Mouth"! I guess you can say. Everyone seems like a great bunch here and I hope to join in on the bounty's soon. My name is Adam and I'm also currently a member of the 501st since late 2008 and have had a heck of a time meeting many cool people along the way as well as learning a whole bunch about Costuming and Prop building in general. The 501st has granted me and my family the oppurtunities to do some extradorniary events to help those in need from Cancer victims, the fight against Autism, Abuse..you name it..so many great causes. I've had tons have of fun at the same time like attending conventions, being part of Weird Al concerts, Lucasfilm troops, meeting Lucas and so much more...geez, a total fanboys dream. I don't regret a single bit of the time spent with these people or my garrison/legion friends, it's simply amazing. I used to be a hard core collector but as I get older I'm realizing it's nice to have Star Wars items but it's so much more fun to have useable collectibles. So thats why I'm taking the dive. If it means selling some of those to aquire a awesome costume...so be it!
My two kids troop as Jawas and hopefully I'll have my wife's Mara Jade completed very soon so she can join the 501st as well instead of being stuck watching. It's going to be nice to have a instant troop of imperial mayhem at any given moment
Well I'm hoping to learn as much as I can to complete a SE RotJ Boba. Iv'e purchased a MR ESB too start with looks like I there's some due work already on the visor! I'm committed however to completing Boba since aside from Vader it was always one of my most admired characters. The gadgets and mystique just draw me I guess you can say.. The main thing that held me off was the price to be honest. There seems to be so many small and tedious items to this character that add up quick if you wanted to be purist. I do care about accuracy but I also enjoy the idealistic side and functionality side of things just as much. So no, respectfully there will never be piano wire holding my TK together
Here's a few of my costumes from past and present. I can paint okay but to this level of detail required for Boba, I definitely need to be schooled in that area. I'm however a firm believer that "You dont__ in another man's cornflakes!" and if there is someone with natural talent in a certain area of expertise, you bet I'm going to ask him for help lol. I'm great with electronics, building and thinking outside the box though and hope I can contribute in some way down the road.
RT-Mod TK (Wondercon 2011)-Retired Costume
My kids! Homemade Jawas
Dan Laws Tie Pilot- Retired Costume
My other favorite! Darth Stone ESB Vader
DW Designs Original C6 Clone Pilot (Darren's awesome paintjob!)
Well I better start the hunt and thanks again to those that have contributed the information to make this a reality
