    Nov 20, 2012, 10:07 PM - Hello Again! #1

I posted my original "hello" thread last summer (2011) sometime. At that point Boba was a ways off and I was just doing research. Well the time has come, I think, to start going forward with my attempt. I think I'm going to go with a ROTJ style Fett. Maybe Special Edition, if I can find more info on that suit.

Now I do have a couple of questions and some of them are no doubt noob type, lol.

First, besides the obvious Hasbro blaster repaints labeled as "accurate props", who/what should be avoided on the 'bay?

Second, I actually have in my collection a '96 Don Post Fett helmet. I bought if off the shelf at Target waaaaay back in the day. Is that helmet acceptable (with mods of course) and a good place to start, or would I be better off picking up something else?

    Thanks guys!

I know it may be a bit unrealistic, but the end time I'm shooting for, when I hope to have something wearable and approvable, would be by (hopefully) any CVII.

I even sat my wife down and showed her the "what to expect to spend" post here, and she never blinked! She just turned to me and said "As long as it's a REAL Fett and not some "custom mando" thing."

Welcome back! I'd avoid most of the eBay items unless you're sure its what you want, since most the time it's not as accurate as the people provide here. There are a couple of nice fett costumes and pieces being sold in the Cargo Hold right now. Now the Special Edition fett has only a few things that differ from the ROTJ fett. The Special Edition fett wears the Empire Strikes Back helmet, has 12 ammo pouches(3 with buttons) on his leather belt, the jetpack has a chunk out of it but still the same paint job and I THINK the wookie braids were from ESB. There are pictures in the gallery of movie shots and exhibits with the Special Edition costume if you want more details. Good luck with your build.

Man of War Studios is about the only person who I'd recommend from eBay. His jetpack and boots are popular for their accuracy.

I agree with DVH and Sleepalot, I also have a Mow Jp, suit, boots and gaunts, good to see you got the approval from the Mrs, I would have got shot for the idea of spending all the money for what I have so far.
    good luck

I will third that... or fourth it... I lost track. Every once in a blue moon, another decent seller will show up, but it never hurts to ask here. When it comes to Fett gear, you will find everything you need in the Cargo Hold here if you are patient.

Great! Thanks everyone. I hope to start gathering the pieces parts after the holidays. Still dont know if the Don Post helmet is a good base or not though. Thoughts?
