The swearing in of the first multi-racial US President makes it historical... I am not an Obama supporter by any means, but I can say for the sake of the country, I hope he just does a good job in office... that is all I ask of him as a leader.

Perhaps it is a matter of opinion. I feel it is a historic day. Having a family who were involved the civil rights movement and living in Atlanta, there have been changes in the way that some people think.

Any Inauguration day is a good. Who ever is elected, it shows we have a great system called Democracy.

I am going to go ahead and post this now as I can easily see this thread headed in a direction that will lead to a poor conclusion. Per the Code:

Any discussion regarding politics/religion or political/religious beliefs is prohibited.

There is nothing wrong with pointing out the fact that this is Inauguration Day in the US and this is a rather unique inauguration, but please make sure you leave any politics at the door. TDH has members from the democratic US to communist China, and everything in between. We do not all hold the same political/religious/social views but we all love Star Wars and we all love Boba Fett. Lets make sure we leave our differences outside to be debated and discussed elsewhere, and focus more on our common goals and similar interests.

We had a great day... even though we live about five miles from the activities yesterday, we stayed home and watched from a warm couch. Popped some champagne at the exact moment he was sworn in, perfect timing. Had some friends over and enjoyed the day. :cheers
