Harry Potter & THBP

Do your self the favor and don't see it. It is nothing but a huge dissapointment of nothing but kids kissing................I'm a big HP fan and this movie discussed me........just thought id vent

I thought it was good. I've read all the books through twice (except deathly hallows since the second reading was leading up to it's release). Where the movie stayed with the book it was good; and that includes all the snogging, where it strays from the book it wasn't quite as good, like what happens at Christmas break, and the shortening of the end.

Was it just my theater or did the sound feel really....flat?

I haven't seen it yet, but alot of the book WAS kissing and such. It was kind of annoying in the book too, but that's just part of it. Not really worth getting upset about.

i loved it. been reading the books over and over since the sorcerer's stone came out many years ago. even have the dark mark tattoo on my arm.

of course the movies have strayed from the books quite a bit for the past few movies...but that's expected with any book to movie...especially with a series too.

and the half blood price book had a lot of love triangle stuff and the kids "snogging" eachother....so it was expected and the comic relief that was delivered with it made it all the more tolerable in the theaters.

i could tell some people in our theater never read the book though...because when IT happens there were several commotions...

i don't know why anyone would prefer the movies over the books though... the books NEED to be read

The movie was a total dissapointment to me I understand there was kissing and love in the book. But come on now.....153 mins of that to take out important and great parts like the end fight sceen??????? Why didi they even need the death eaters at the end?????? All they do is come blow up a few windows and leave

This one in my opinion was geared more towards the teen movie-goers. Personally, I wasn't nearly as impressed with this one as I have been the last 5. I just hope the first half of Deathly Hallows ramps up where this one left flat.

It was good. Me and my GF made quidditch costumes from the movie and camped out to see it. Was it as good as it could have been? Not really. There were a lot of things that the book covered that I felt didn't get enough (or any) screen time. The way I look at the movies at this point is that it's just a movie follow up from the previous movie, it's not meant to be the book as a whole.

I'd probably rate it a B- overall.

I thought it was OK....Ill buy the DVD anyway. I was hoping for more thats for sure but even if it was better Id still be hoping for more.
I thought the HP/Malfoy 'sectumsempra' duel could have been more.
And the Death Eaters Arrival and departure from Hogwarts was WAY
more dramatic in the book. Oh well....It was worth the price of admission.
Maybe the filmmakers were more interested in staging the 2 part Deathly Hallows than making a knock-you-over HBP.

Just saw the movie and, as I suspected, I loved it. Granted, it did not follow the book to the letter, nor did any of the movies up to this point for that matter. I really didn't think the "snogging" was all that bad actually. It was a big part of the movie, as it was in the book as well, but it was funny enough not to take me away from the main plot line.

And yes... I have read all of the books on more than one occasion, and, yes, I still liked it. Amazing

As a person who has never read any of the books, and got a Harry Potter crash course this past week (my g/f made me watch 1-5) I thought the movie was pretty good. She filled me in on certain stuff that was left out but out of all the movies I would rate this one 2nd or 3rd best

Read the books and you will see how dissapointing that movie was

:rolleyes I don't care about the books and it's really lame to expect the movies to have everything from the books in them. I am guessing since they split Deathly Hollows into two movies, they will bring a lot of the left out explanations from HBP into the DH movies. As a movie goer, that's fine by me. I really don't want a 4 hour LOTR snore-fest for Harry Potter. So as long as the movies are good enough on their own, I don't care what's in the books.

LOTR snore-fest?!?!?? I went to the marathon screening the day before the release of Return of the King, Fellowship and Two Towers was the extended editions. I could have had them been longer and not been bored with them.

I went last night with the missus... I enjoyed it as a fan (yeah I said it ) I've read all the books and this particular film left me a bit disapointed?
In the book, so much more reference to the history and quantity of the hoarcrux's (sp) was left out from the film?

I'd have been happier to sit through a longer version... I just hope the fact that they have split the last book/film into 2 films ensures that they keep more in it.

Ignorance is bliss! ;) I have never read any Potter books but i've seen all the movies. So in my uninformed opinion this was the most entertaining Potter yet.
I know i'm missing out on a lot by not reading the books but my wife has read the whole series and she fills me in.
