Halo ODST helmet paint up

my buddy pepped, resind, bondod this helm and asked me to paint it up.. i have lots of things i wanted to try with techniques soooo here goes!..

heh, true =)

my frend brought it to me much rougher than it looks, i cleaned it up first

than i used a paint i use for my engine blocks as a base, Aluminum last blast, i masked off some small damage.

then used a tamiya Haze grey matte for the "primer" layer over the metal look, did some more fluid here and there

taped off the portion thats to be flat black and sprayed with rustoleum gunmetal hammered look

ill be doing the markings thursday i hope and revealing the damage and adding much more

because i layered it ill be able to pull away paint in the normal fashion of scrapes and whatnot.

Looks like it's coming along pretty good so far(y) Are you using anything like the live action shorts as reference or are you being a little more creative with the battle damage?
