    Good vibes and thoughts appreciated...

    Hey all...
Well, I'm not one to do this kind of thing, but here I am. Things have gotten to the point that the stress is taking on physical effects....so here's the long story short...

My wife, who is my everything, my life, my best friend has been going through alot of pain in the past 2 years. All tests come back normal with a slightly elevated white count. No one can figure out what the problem is. No one. We've been to specialists everywhere, she's been on all kinds of medications, even had emergency surgery when they thought it was her appendix. It's severe abdominal pain, and now after 2 years of in and out of hospitals and ERs, we find that there's a certain bacteria called H.pylori which causes ulcers. She's got it and there's a strong belief she has some pretty mean ulcers....and now with the latest specialist who's the best in the field, we know she needs to have her gall bladder removed due to a functionality issue.....AND...he feels it's possible she may have Lupus.

Couple all this with my own disabilities - I was hit by a drunk driver in 2006 and have a separated shoulder, herniated disks in my neck and back in several places, along with several bulging disks that can, will and some already have ruptured to full herniation.

Throw in the terrible family issues going on with my side of the family....my father passed away in 2006 from pancreatic cancer, he was 59 and my best friend, which has done a number on my own as well as my wife's emotional state as my entire family turned on me since he was the only one that ever protected me from them and their disfunction and insanity.

Oh and in December my eldest had an accident with a circular saw and almost cut his ring and pinky fingers clean off and it was said he'd never play guitar again, but thankfully he's made a better than full recovery after brilliant emergency surgery....and you can imagine how this can eventually cause some issues.......like the development of tremendous amounts of acid reflux, stomach issues and 99.9% sure my own ulcers.

So here I am...spilling my guts, revealing to a bunch of people I have barely gotten to know but feel a kinship with, asking if it was at all possible, if you all can spare it, to throw us some good thoughts and good vibes. I would really appreciate it, because if anyone could send out the goodness, it's the kind and generous people here on The Dented Helmet.

Thanks for reading this. I just had to vent....

    DP,

I completely understand what you're going through in more ways than you can imagine. Mary and I went through the same "in and out of hospitals" thing in a way that actually cost me two jobs until we finally found out that what she was suffering from was Crone's disease. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Keep your chin up, bruv. We're all pulling for you guys and will keep you in our thoughts. Remember, blood doesnt necessarily make people "family", and that works both ways. Your other family here, will try to help in any way we can. I can attest, TDH members have shown me more love and compassion in times of need or distress than I ever expected or imagined.

    Remember, chin up.

    Cheers
    Sonik

DP, thoughts, prayers, and good vibes headed your way bro. And hey, find a counselor/therapist you're comfortable with; worked wonders for me.
    Peace and blessings.

Yeah I know it....but these rough times have been going on since 2006, so it does seem a bit endless. Trying to just catch a break, ya' know? Not to say that there weren't any happy and good things thrown in. Moving to Abbotsford, Canada, getting my residency status, signing up here to TDH, having my awesome wife and fantastic sons get into this costuming with me, getting into the 501st, becoming Deputy Webmaster for my Garrison.......there have been some great, great things that have happened. But the rough things....especially my wife being in pain, being ill, it's just shattering. I don't care about my injuries or my pain, as long as she's ok. If she's fine, life is fine. She's my world. So we just have to get through this, find out what's going on, and get it taken care of, because seeing her suffer is just agony.

Thank you guys so very much. I'll make sure I keep you guys posted on what goes on with us.
I really don't know what to say to show my sincere appreciation....

If you can do your best to shift focus towards the positive things in your life, regardless of how heavy the negative feels, perhaps you will be able to regain a sense of control that will carry over into good health. I wish you the best.

Thanks guys. And thanks for that food for thought. Pretty profound...I'll have to really focus on that, concentrate on what's good that's going on. It's easier to be defeated than it is to fight on, eh? But anything worth having is worth fighting for.
