Getting dressed

Nobby

Active Hunter
Firstly, please forgive me if this is posted somewhere already. I've had a search and can't find it.......:(

Ok, well I was just wondering if anyone has made a definitive 'how to' or tutorial on getting kitted up in the full Boba costume?

I've got it all en route, but would love some advice on the best way to put it all on when it arrives.
I'm sure there must be a right and wrong way of doing it.
Or even just and order in which things are put on, just like with a TK.

Thanks all
:D

This is how I go about it, (I always tend to forget something and have to go back and take something off :rolleyes) I found it easy to start by the boots and work your way up.

Jumpsuit
Boots
Knees
Cod
Girth
Ammo Belt
JP Harness
Vest
Jet Pack
Guants
Gloves
Helmet

take off everything. put the helmet on. go outside. grab the paper.

j/k

ESB i do...

harness
boots
ankle ties
shin tools
knee armor
chest armor

wookie braids cape
cod piece+buttplate
jet pack
gloves
gauntlet
helmet
blaster

dance

I had to have help to suit up in mine last year. I couldn't get the jet pack on by myself. I'm curious as to how you guys do it. and how do you put the harness straps though the vest slots? I can't imagine doing that without help either.

i don't know anyone who can put the rocket pack on without assistance.

I used a long strip of masking tape threaded through the rectangle rings to effectively make the straps 5 inches longer. Threaded them through the vest slots and pulled them all the way through once the vest was on. A sharp tug close to where the tape goes through the ring breaks the tape off.

I'm sure everyone does their dress-up time slightly differently. Here's mine (ROTJ) recently......

Jumpsuit
Boots
Ankle Spats
Cod
Girth
Ammo belt
Harness
Neck seal
Vest
Jet Pack and backplate
Collar armor
Knees and shin tools
Gauntlets and gloves
Helmet
Blaster

The reason I put my knees on after the jet pack is that I usually kneel on the ground while 1-2 other troopers attach the jet pack for me. Sometimes I put the shin tools in the pockets after the ankle spats, sometimes I wait until I put the knee armor on.

My 11 year old spotter/son Andy helps me suit up and reminds me if I get out of sequence. His fee is dinner at Red Robin's after the troop. ;)

My order is

Jumpsuit
Knee Armor
Boots
Ankle Spats
Cod
Girth
Ammo belt
Harness
Vest
Jet Pack and backplate
Gauntlets
Gloves
Collar Armor
Helmet
Blaster

The only part I need help with is the backplate and jet pack, the rest I'm capable to donning solo.

Thanks for the tips, guys :)

If you don't hear from me in six months, send help :D cos I'm probably trapped in my gear, halfway dressed

The most frustrating thing is when you realize you forgot to put something on and have to take half the costume off to put that item on.:angry

LOL been there!

or you get everything on and can't reach something. my knee armor slid down my leg a bit once and i have to take the cod, kidney, and belts off just to lean down far enough to fix it
