Yeah, they didn't donate money to Make a Wish Foundation, and so I think Lucas sued them and they filled for chapt 11 at that point.
It is true ... I've seen this on rebelscum.com and a few other sites as well.
You can read the full complaint but here are the allegations.
http://www.gamerchicksrule.com/conte...casVGenCon.pdf
1. Gen Con failed to uphold its legal obligations in terms of financial reporting, accounting and payments to Lucasfilm ($500,000 in damages)
2. Gen Con did not give auction proceeds to Make-A-Wish as they had agreed to do ($150,000 in damages)
3. Gen Con did not give Lucasfilm their share of the auction proceeds ($150,000 in damages)
4. Gen Con did this all unjustly ($150,000 in damages)
I guess GenCon sidestepped all this by filing chapter 11
HA ! HA !
It serves them right ...
So not cool of them.
FP
you see boys and girls, this is why we dont **** off Uncle George...tisk tisk Gen Con.

Serves them right!
The thing is, I beleive GenCon is now sueing LFL for aprox 80K. I think its just sorta pointing the finger back at them now. I don't realy like GenCon, and I don't realy like LFL, so it dosen't matter much to me. But if I had to express an opinion on it (And I'm going to either way.![]()

) I'd favor LFL. GenCon wasen't the best for the Celebration Cons.....Or anyway the experience I had, they weren't the best.
So I could see them withholding money from a donation. :/
so...no more gaming fair?
Any idea what the outcome on this is going to be? From what I've seen it looks like GenCon has dug themselves a hole, but I'd like to hear their part of the story.
C4 totally sucked the tailpipe for me.
The only good times/memories were the 'after hours'

So what does LFL have to do with GenCon?
I have no idea of the history of Gencon and why they would be is so much trouble with GL.
I am sorry for being uninformed and having to ask for a history lesson.
Thank you
I was too tired to after hours it, but yeah Indy was 100 times better. It was very communal and close together hotel wise, it was a party all day long for 5 days. It was cheaper than hanging in Hell A too. I've read and analyzed the complaint filed last week. It's all about maintaining proprietary control, once you lose it, everyone else will stomp on you. Plus, you don't defraud a charity.
Well, LOPERO, GenCon is the Gaming convention. GenCon LLC, which purchased GenCon Game Fair in 03 or something, started doing the GenCon "Best Four Days in Gaming" and also started doing the Celebrations for LFL. This story pertains to C4 I believe, and since they are going bankrupt, I doubt there will be a GenCon, or any other conventions, by them anymore. CAN ANYONE SAY GENCON BACK IN MILWAULKEE?!?!?!?
I agree with Gonzofett! Although I do think that at every con, the after hours are always well worth staying up late.I can't wait for Comic-con! It's gonna be awesome!
