G.I. Joe Movie cast photos!!!!!!

I have held out ZERO faith that this movie would be any good from the moment I heard they were going to make it. Now that pics are leaking out it's confirmed for me. This is going to be another thing from our childhood that gets processed and spit out like some rehashed piece of re-engineered garbage! Snake Eyes is the ONLY thing that looks cool and even then the sculpted mouth is absurd. Baroness looks hot but then WHY not give her the glasses we all expect her to have? WHY?

LAME.

Storm Shadow looks like he's going to prom with a couple of swords strapped to his back.

And isn't Duke supposed to be an old grizzled veteran Sergeant? Why choose some young guy who looks like he stepped off the cover of GQ?

dennis quaid is playing duke. and if you've ever drank with the man you know he's an ond grizzled veteran, but he can party like a rock star!

I'm not familiar with the comics or honestly with much of the characters, but I remember playing with my brother's GI Joe dolls back when they had the furry crew cuts and darn it, GI Joe's don't look like these do in the movie. These costumes are so uninspired and look like every other film of recent- Doom, Underworld, Matrix, Blade, Batman, X-Men. Can't someone come up with something original? Isn't it possible to stay true to what they are meant to look like? There are a couple of girl costumes in this movie which it would have been cool to do but they are such generic costumes that what is point in doing something if everyone is going to be like "what movie are you from?"

Well, Baroness is pretty true to how she looked in the cartoon, comics and figure. The only thing really missing are the circular glasses and a giant "cobra" symbol on her chest. (it's like that on the figure)

Yeah, I was telling Brak's that she looked an awful lot like Trinity from The Matrix and then he told me the same as you said and showed me a picture of her.

Dolls? aw man.:confused I thought I was playing with action figures:lol:. These pics worry me though. I think this might be another horrible movie at the box office.

They could have AND SHOULD HAVE done it much better.....

Wow, Andy... I would have thought you would be all over this! While you may not quite have the moves Ray Parks probably will, I really think you pull off the spirit of Snake Eyes MUCH more convincingly than what I am seeing in these pics. You look like a ninja... The Park Snake Eyes looks like some sort of Bane-esque charcter... Like a black rubber Arnold or something... I know what they were trying to do but they just didn't pull it off.

Since I am a wee bit into G.I. JOE myself......

....I am glad they used Ray Park as the modernized Snake-Eyes. He's a cool guy and he's a good choice for that character. The rest of the modernized Batman armored JOEs do nothing for me.

Mr Fett, now that's what I'm talking about! That is Snake Eyes like I remember him! Well done!(y)

These characters were such a big part of my childhood. Why can't they get people to produce these movies who have the same kind of love for the characters as the fans who grew up with them? There's got to be someone out there who can design individualized uniforms for the characters which are "modernized", but still true to the flavor of the character they represent.

On a side note, I've gotten my son a bunch of the 25th anniversary figures which recently came out, so he's into them now.

Exactly!!! Like I said Andy, you really fit the bill!

Apparently the Storm Shadow look was pulled from "Cobra Reborn"

Yeah, mine is heavily based on the 1985 (second figure) version. Not exact, since I threw in a little of the more modern version into it, but still kept with the mainly old school theme. One difference I did with my visor is make it more angular instead of rounded, because that's how it was sometimes drawn in the old comics (and every other Snake-Eyes I'd seen does the rounded version so I was trying to be a little different).

I actually made my first Snake-Eyes costume before I even got into the Star Wars costuming. I grew up with the 80s version of the G.I. JOEs and Snake-Eyes was and is so dear to my childhood memories. I praise Ray Park's gymnastic martial arts abilities and that he's such a nice guy in real life, so kudos to choosing him. But, like Braks said, the suit they made for him was too overly scupted. It looks like they were trying to match the Image comics look for him (what I call the 'new Snake-Eyes'). That's pretty typical nowadays in Hollywood to severly modernize every comic type character we've seen thus far.

Thanks for the compliments Braks and hansoloway. :)

Ok, with that picture of what Scarlett is supposed to look like, compare that to what she looks like in film...are you saying the purple spandex is more realistic? I'm sorry, while I love the old school Joe look, I have to give the benefit to the 09 Movie Scarlett.
