FETTDAD THANKS TDH!!

hey brother, not going anywhere...just giving up the fett for awhile...you guys are awesome, never could be anything you have done...well, there are a few i would leave, but theyre gone now...;)

Darrell,

I saw this the other day and have held off posting a response, because at first it always comes as a bit of a shock, especially from certain members that seemed so focused on building their Fett and when there is that much focus, there's also passion that goes along with it! I think that's always a hard thing to temper, it many times controls you and rules your decision making more than you thought it ever would! But, I'm glad that you've managed to work things out in your head and seem to have refocused your energies on the the things (people), that truly count in life! :love

Although, with that said, and this has been mentioned by a couple other members, is that if it is an interest and a hobby, you have to have something that's all for you and you enjoy and allows you escapism from work, stress, etc... This could also serve as a great vehicle to help build the relationship with your son in the future, should his interest in Star Wars grow over time, hopefully it will! (y)

I can honestly say that model building, costumes, prop building and other things like this have kept my Dad and I close over the years, even though we've had our fair share of arguments and disagreements!

In the end man, you can always build another suit, I've sold off two complete ESB Fett suits, one better than the last and I'm now a Flightsuit, Vest, Boots and a Jet Pack away from building my 3rd and "FINAL ESB FETT"! I guess the third time will be the charm, perfect! So next time, take your time with it and enjoy the journey of building your Fett, it's not a race to see who can build their Fett the Fastest, it's the point of making it right! (y)

So in the interum, keep in touch, focus on what you need to and when your ready to hit it again, I'm sure friends and vendors here on TDH will be here to help you recapture your dream of Fett for you and your son to admire for years to come! Because remember, a great man once wrote...

ESB Boba Fett: 85% COMPLETE
"...alllmost therrre....alllmost theyrre..." "stay on target...STAAAY on target..."

:cheers

You're my Brother from another Mother! :)

It's sad to see you part with your Fett, but you've been an inspiration with your Progress Threads! Those will never die!

ok, now i am really tearing up...after about $4000 of sold items, and a happy wife and esthatic son, i have been deeply touched by my experience on TDH...i have hung on to a couple of items, the holy grails of the costume, so to speak, and as mmgraphics has stated, and these will be my foundations for WHEN i come back to finish my Fett...it totally goes without saying, but this family is so intense, so tight knit, and so supportive, that i cant begin to express my gratitude, committment, and love for this community...any newbie that comes to TDH needs to see the support that you guys have given me in this tough time i have had in selling my gear...

it is ironic, that in the state i have been in in the last few days, i can truly see that TDH offers more than professional help with building a Fett costume, it offers friendship, true friendship, and a support group that has no compare...thanks guys, i truly consider you family!!

Glad to see your stayin' an yeah you got it right family comes first. I got real lucky. I was going to quit trooping this month but my Wife just finished her Tie pilot and my Son has his mini Boba suit thing now. They said WHAT? no way and drug me to a troop.

This hobby is going to be great 4 u in a couple a years cuz your kids will have the best costumes ever! and when neighbor's kids say where did you get your costume your kids will say
"My dad MADE it for me :)
Its an awesome feeling. So go slow and hang loose bro :)

Noble gesture to put your family first. I hope to stay in contact both through TDH and personal communication with you. You have been the one who has stood up for the little guy on numerous occasions, that hopefully will not stop. Take care.

I'm happy I'll be able to read your things even though you had to sell. And family first is always the right decision.. so, I'm sorry, but not sorry (y)

selling some of my gear to pay bills...maybe...all my fett stuff.

i couldn't.

i think i'd ditch every other costume first, stormtrooper, all my stormy helmets, royal guard, master chief, harry potter, darth vader....all but the fett.

sucks that you gotta let it go.

glad that you have the mindset to jump back on some day. lots of people sell their gear, but not everyone comes back...curtis always does

i wish i had other stuff to have sold, but i didnt...i am totally in the same boat, brother...i would have for sure sold other stuff first...but this selling of my gear wasnt about money...it was about family, and time lost...i just had to refocus on priorities, learn from my tunnelvision and mistakes, and not let it happen the next time...:)
