Fallout NV Desert Ranger Build

Newport

New Hunter
Hey guys, I'm pretty new to posting here, but I have been reading up on the stuff on the site for quite some time. I was hoping to do a Desert Ranger build from Fallout New Vegas, but I'm going to need a little advice. Firstly, for anyone who doesn't know, the Desert Ranger Combat Armor (Honest Hearts dlc) is a variant of the Veteran Ranger Combat Armor showcased on the cover of the game. I got most of my inspiration to do this from Kommissar and Darkside501st's builds on the Ranger armor and thought that both of them did REALLY great jobs. I've got the pep file for the helm and the armor and duster themselves shouldn't be much of a problem. However, I was hoping that someone may have some advice on applying the resin to the pep file and whether or not anyone knows where I could get the green reflective film for the eyes. Any help would be appreciated and I plan on starting the build within the next few days, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!!

This game killed two of my xbox360's... But I still played it because it's so **** addicting. Now, sorry for hi jacking your thread! Brother, that green lense is the least of your project. Craft foam or Foam board the armor (Or trash can armor tutorial) I'd use some kind of novelty construction helmet as a start- Maybe a wire frame to build on with more craft foam (Lots of hot glue!)

Yeah, it along with skyrim killed my first PS3 but, like you said, it's REALLY addicting haha. I've already got some experience with shaping the foam I'll need for the armor (I just need to go and pick some more up). I've seen a lot of guys use both real and plastic U.S. M1 helmets as the actual helmet part of the mask and I was going to stick with a pep because it seemed simpler than actually just going for a trial and error approach with molding or something else along those lines lol. If I can get a hold on an old costume M1 helm I'll probly just attach the rest of the pep file to said helmet.
