ESB or ROTJ?

Whats everyone thoughts pros/cons on the ESB or the ROTJ versions!? Im starting to like the ROTJ version a little more, it seems thats the most used costume...

the thing I like about ESB is the side arm blaster!! but the thing I hate is the all green paint scheme... I wish there was a version of the ROTJ with the side arm and the ESB Webley. oh well, I guess I will have to wait on the Blu-Ray version and hope for another change!!

I am digging the red gauntlets a little more...ESB seems green overkill to me. The pre pro with the yellow and red looks pretty cool too!

Most people like the ESB helmet but want to stay ROTJ so they do the ROTJ SE. So you can go with the ROTJ SE version but it takes more skill to paint the helmet ESB style.

There are a number of things about RotJ that I really like, namely the the less-blue color of the jumpsuit and the placement of the belt pouches, but ultimately the ESB Webley and the striped cape won me over. In the end, I call myself an ESB kind of guy.

I may say hell with accuracy and go for all my favorite parts of each suit...

That would be an interesting costume, however, I dont think mixing and matching will get you into the 501st if that is what you are aiming for. If not, then good luck!

501st would be cool...but its more for me. Ive wanted a Fett armor suit for years...Now to get rid of the horror collection! Come on Cargo hold access!

Facing this dilemna now - I think I'm going ESB because Boba actually survives the movie, and doesn't go out like a punk - sorry RTJ fans

I am an ESB about 80% complete, there are alot more ROTJ, for various reasons, sometimes I wish I would have went with ROTJ, cause you can sure find alot more ROTJ parts than you can ESB. About your comment on ROTJ, there is one good thing about the expanded Star Wars universe, in the books, Boba survives the Sarlacc, so he can continue on many more adventures Either way, Boba rules!

Speaking of surviving the Sarlacc - anyone see Robot Chicken SW II - lot of great Boba clips.

I prefer ROTJ. My prime reason is ROTJ was my favorite out of the original 3. But I also liked the costume a lot more ... especially the jet pack.:jet pack It's already been mentioned, but I also wasn't too thrilled with most of the hard armor being green in ESB. One other thing - more kill stripes in ROTJ!

ROTJ / SE just my personal fav.

As told my friend DAVE, I also prefer ROTJ/SE (means special edition)

On a side note: the very best ref. we have is for RoTJ/SE. Thanx to some members, we have much more ESB ref. than we used to these days, but if you wanna really go accurate, you will have an easier time with ROTJ/SE.

It's funny that the one thing some ppl dislike about a version is the one thing that I like most about it. I prefer the green ESB cuz to me it has more camo/hunter/predator feel to it, rather than the happy colored jet pack and red gauntlets of ROTJ.

YES!

1: ESB Fett for me brings back the most memories being his first movie appearance and I have fond memories of seeing TESB. The Fett in TESB established and solidified the mystique for me.

2: ESB Fett Gets Han Solo, gets paid and talks back to Vader and gets away with it.

ROTJ Fett gets sucker punched by a blind man and falls into a giant monster. Shoud have spent more time honeing those Bounty Hunter skills and less time trying to make time with Jabba's dancing girls.

I think you should do whatever version you most enjoy seeing. For me it is the ESB version. I just love the look of Boba against that red scene in the hallway. Do what you like the best. Don't do one version or another because more people are doing it or for part availability. If you like a version make it happen.

I say do whatever YOU like the most. There are some purists, and there are some that dont care about accuracy, but more about a cool individual costume. There are some that like that cartoony colored jet pack from ROTJ. hahaha

Then there is me, the type of guy who has seen ESB 10 times more than any of the other movies. I grew up loving star wars, but it seemed that every time we wanted to throw one in the VCR, it was ESB. What a great film. That was the image of Boba that sticks out the most to me. So ESB is the image that I want to replicate. Again, everyone has there own opinion, and nobody has to like mine, but ask and ye shall receive. (I really do love the ROTJ gauntlets) and if you really wanna try a unique costume then do the holiday special. Im starting to think about it after looking at "Boba_die_Wix" progress:

I like em both for different reasons. I lik the more unified colors of the ESB costume and the sidearm and blaster as well. For some reason the ROTJ pack is growing on me... I wish the ESB pack had more detail or color. Maybe more reds and yellows or have the rocket like the rotj pack. ESB helmet is a def plus to me as well I also like the blueish gray suit more than the rotj colors. ROTJ skull is cooler heh... I don't even know I am just kinda rambling. At first I did not like the ROTJ pack but I may like it more than the ESB one now... overall the more military/hunter unified look of ESB pleases me more... but ROTJ is just as win in my opinion.

You totally should do Holiday Special Fett! That has been growing on me as well heh

I am going with ROTJ armor myself, but I liked the movie ESB better. However, I am buying a bucket instead of building one (hence my question). Once I get my armor done, I will take the time to build my own Fett bucket.

Any comments on the two helmets are welcome - thanks in advance.

Neither. Both of those helmets are the same, no idea why they are coloured differently like that.

ROTJ can wear an ESB helmet, but the MR is based off of the PPv3 helmet (99% close to ESB). The Special Edition movies had Fett wearing the ESB helmet, but there is extra damage on the helmet due to mishandling of it over the years.

I think you should go with what you feel is best for you, don't listen to others.

Personally I am going ESB simply because I think it is the best movie and also because I like the more uniform look of Fett there. But I have to admit, I do like all the other variants as well but this is because they are more colourful.

Also, it has alot to do with memories for me - so if I should have gone for something else than the ESB it would have to be a version more close to my childhood's Kenner Boba Fett action figure; the Pre-Pro.

There is also one other I really like, and that is the Holiday Special Fett, which is so very rare - but still ultra cool!

I'm a little confused about your comment about buying a Fett lid then making one? I can only assume you meant 'paint' your own lid?

I prefer the ESB Fett for the same reasons that were already pointed out, the colour scheme is better IMO (though I do like the red gauntlets) and in Empire Fett was the man, not a stooge like they turn him into in ROTJ. So I'm going to make my first Fett project an ESB build.

ofc the other thing the MR lid - is its pinch needs to be fixed as well prior to troopin
and depending on wot fits in with ur sensibilities - this can either be a small or big job!

if u are gonna put cash down on a MR - maybe get a nice Fang and get a commissioned paint job?

I actually like the MR paint job, but it is a mix of paint jobs

I like ROTJ - just the colout scheme
but have always loved the look of the ESB helmet with its cat scratch.

but my ultimate fett? pre pro-2 - cos it was my fav toy as a kid.

I like the level of detail involved with the ESB bucket, but I much rather prefer the ROTJ blaster to the ESB one... it just looks meaner...

I saw Jeremy in the ESB suit last April. Nuff said.
