Hi gang! Recently I have been communicating with Nathan Hamill (yes Mark Hamill's son) via E-mail because he did a commisioned drawing for my son. He asked I get the word out about a piece of art he did for the 30th ann. of ESB. I like his style and he seems like a real cool cat. Check out the link and score ya one. He also told me he has a limited number of signed artists proofs available. http://www.starwars.com/vault/collecting/nathan_hamill_empire_art/index.html

Why do artists think painting or drawing something in a purposely unattractive style is neat? Stylized works of art should be vague, or show something familiar in a way you havent seen before but always should be attractive. Unless your subject is supposed to be horrific, or stylized to look ugly when it wasnt before to inspire a certain feeling of contrast; why make it look so messed up? There is nothing messed up about Luke meeting Yoda.

That is why its Art

Art has no barrier or guide lines to follow, and many different styles appeal to many different people.
