On Ebay, was wondering if it is safe to buy or a recast? The user seller's user name sounds childish, so hesitant to buy without advice. It's the only one on sale.

I would personally just wait to purchase anything fan-made when it comes to Episode VII. I would wait until something licensed comes out or until there is more reference material. All of the fan-made sculpts are tragically wrong.

While I think it's cool what some people can come up with based on one photograph or screen grab, I agree with Scott. Anything EP7 has such limited 'quality' reference material...you're better off waiting for someone to do it right when enough info is available.

Saying that, there is someone on therpf.com that did a full cast of the EP7 helmet. Just use their search. Go there before eBay.

Animefan is doing runs of the new stormie helmets on the RPF right now, in addition to his FP casts. As well, Ozymandias does different casts of the helmet. They are both different sculpts but pretty cool looking. As well, they are ongoing runs for the time being.

Agreed. It's a bit steep to pay $400+ now on fan-sculpted helmets that completely miss the mark proportion-wise ever since The Force Awakens trailer showed us a better angle on the front of the helmet. Whether it's officially licensed or a fan-sculpt that measures up to the mark based on multiple reference photos, I'd absolutely wait.
