What don't you like about it, xanthis? ...if you're weighing the entire movie's success on the few leaked shots of trooper lids...I dunno...at least the troopers are real and not CGI.
I for one think it looks like a logical evolution to the troopers we know. I like that it doesn't have ears (thank god...no trimming those again), similar to the original Liz sculpt of the lid. Everything so far has lots of nods back to original sketches and designs - I am all for this.

Where did that last photo come from? A lot of these photos that I have been seeing, looks to me like McQuarrie concept helmets.
Well, its been 30 years. It makes sense to have things change.

I think the helmets look terrific. If it is set 30 years after Jedi, then it's only logical the technology would be upgraded somewhat, to have the best performing soldiers they could. I really feel they have kept the look of the original helmets, and melded them into a modern incarnation beautifully. People just tend to lose their $h!t a little if things are changed ever so slightly in the star wars universe..

I think what they are trying to do is a continuation on the evolution of the clone trooper. It was the clonetrooper, clonetrooper phase II (which looks similar to the stormtrooper), stormtrooper, and now these. I think they look amazing! I would totally do one of these.

i dunno why so many are like "why did they have to change it"...well its 30yrs later...what would you say if say, your 1984 honda never changed in 30yrs...or our military never changed in 30yrs....its natural progression. Would i like to see the classic TKs running around in a new movie...you bet i would, and maybe we will with the stand alone films as some take place in between A New Hope and Empire and Empire and Jedi...but for something 30yrs after Jedi...it only makes sense. I like the design for the most part. I maybe would have left the teeth in the design and kept the frown more angular like the originals, but other than that..i like it and im sure it'll grow on me like the Ep 3 clones eventually did.
