I too am not a fan of change but I gotta say these new designs are sick! Wasn't a big fan of some of the clone wars troopers. But these are so cool .

I was blown away when I first saw the new X-Wing in JJ's video, and the
new Stormie helmets look pretty great!

Keep in mind, in the overall scheme of things, the destruction of the Death Star isn't THAT big of a win for Rebels. It only ensured that their immediate destruction was postponed. The Empire is still extremely powerful and surely, being both a political and military organization, the Emporer's throne was filled pretty quickly and things were back to "oppression as normal" within no time.

Tried explaining that to Dynamic and Rubio last night...You cut off one head of a hydra and what happens? Two grow back?

Like it a lot, especially love the bridge over the nose section, if it was removed, it would look a lot like a conventional motor cycle helmet. I imagine there would be much better visability for the stunt actors looking out through one of these, and the small and slight Ralph mcquarrie tribute on the ear area is a lovely way of saying thank you to him.

Pretty sure the "X-Wing" was a Z-95 headhunter from the books. It fits the description. I don't think those photos of "storm troopers" are legit. So far the real deal has been the Millennium Falcon set, Tatooine set and the Z-95. I hate the rumor mill.

I does look like a Z-95 but it has been implicitly stated (can't find the reference at the moment) that it isn't' a Headhunter.

?....As I remember our discussion was in regards to Ryan not being keen on the new design of the ST lids. I don't remember anything to do with the political structure?...I completely agree with Art.

Also, as Fettseven stated just as in "real life" styles, equipment, transportation etc all evolve. If in fact these images are accurate, it would make prefect sense that they seem modernized and sleek in appearance. I promise you, If Superman was invented in 2014 he wouldn't be sporting red panties and blue stretch gabardine!

LOL you guys are crazy!!!

If J.J. has any appearances of Mandalorians in the new movies even for a second, I hope his team takes less creative freedoms with the Mando helmets and armor. This armor passes down from father to son and even won or collected in battle. Any over to top creative adaptations may come across as to much too soon, resulting in trying to hard TRON looking armor. Man, I hope they don’t F this up.

Yeah I hear you Brother, EU is out the window but only until they incorporate some of it. I would be very surprised if they managed to avoided all EU and created a 100% new storylines. It would floor me but maybe in a good way?
