EFX reveals BOBA FETT LEGEND, STORMTROOPER HERO LEGEND, STORMTROOPER ARMOR LEGEND!!

I thought about that too. What a great deal. If money wasn't tight right now I would have jumped on that.

Just for the sake of clarification, Anovos hasn't actually gotten anything to the public yet. But they'll probably still beat efx, lol.

They've taken quite a bit of money though...How many different preorders do you offer up in this short of a time.

I think EFX and Anovos are technically 2 different markets. EFX is more the collector market where Anovos is more for full wearable costumes. Not to say there would be no competition, but i do think their primary markets are different.

I also heard that Anovos put a halt on the Full Bikerscout EFX was planning, not sure how true that is, but i did hear it a couple of time from unrelated folks. This would mean Anovos was planning a Full Scout suit as well.

I got to hold the EFX prototype Fett at C7...i wish i had cameras in my eyes lol...its beautiful..i wish i had more sense to look at it for certain details i could add into my helmets but eh. I did notice a couple of things i could tweak on mine from that besides what i already had planned, but my helmet will never be the holy grail of Fett helmets, just a nice mostly accurate costume piece is my goal. 1 more tweak session and im done with it lol.

(per ANOVOS) "It is unknown whether or not these were production samples or prototypes".

They are prototypes. The TK was said to be from their scans. The AT-AT driver, and TIE pilots you see in the advertisements and displays are actually MonCal/FarAwayCreations products.I have seen plenty of posts from FAC saying "prepping suits for Anovos", and they are clearly FAC/MC gear.

I'll try and clarify a few things. The eFX Boba Fett helmet is still planned for production, just don't expect to see anything for another year or two. These busts are the result of LFL giving ANOVOS the costume license. Darth Voorhees put it right by saying it in simple terms for this thread, Anovos makes costumes and eFX makes prop replicas.
eFX had acquired several pieces and means to go about making a full biker scout but LFL told them to cease those plans. eFX had done a lot of leg work to go about finding some means and materials to put towards full sized costumes and I feel that these busts are their way of putting those items to use.

The rumor that KenChen posted is false.

Who are you? Who is KenChen? And are you speaking officially on behalf of Efx, or it this conjecture?

If we can't expect to see anything for a year or two, that would make 3-4 years AFTER a product was announced as 'coming soon.'

Bad business. Especially with rumors circulating about Efx regarding this helmet.

No offense to you, Scott Kaufmann, as I'm glad someone who seems to be 'in the know' has commented, but a reply to this thread from an actual Efx employee or spokesperson would be AWESOME.

Scott is formally known as THE DENT (TX Fett) Site Owner....he knows a thing or two more then pretty much anyone here about everything here....his word is gospel. If EFX had kept it under wraps none of you would have **** to whine about...moaning about EFX doesn't make the development happen any faster...itll still be bought by people with the money to buy it when it comes out.

Shame on you, Dom.....

So, basically, all of us little dogs should just shut up and take what we're given.....and be thankful?

That kind of thinking is not only insulting, but crystalizes what is wrong with the Fett community.

"Thank you, sir, may I have another?"

Im just doing what most everyone else does and saying whats on my mind....again at least theyre bringing it to life. **** doesn't happen overnight. If they came out with it 6 months later rushed and half assed you guys would be lining up with pitch forks...its a piece of fiberglass you can wear on your head its not the end of the world if they take their time with it. You know **** takes time...why keep complaining about it? Its not going to make it happen any sooner then when its done...theres no reason to bitch about it anymore. You all sound like a bunch of children that didn't get what they wanted for Christmas.

Overnight? We're working on two years since the announcement, Look at the timeline and then reread your posts.

No one is being impatient. Perhaps Efx shouldn't have announced it so soon, when they were well aware that they were still a loooooong way away from production. And especially since it's been abandoned from official updates, even when questions are asked.

As a sidenote, it is genuinely disturbing to hear you say, 'you guys' so much. As if the admin crew is separate from the rest of us?

I use the term you guys because I type how I speak....and I know you know that....and you are one of the people in this case complaining. So if the shoe fits. Im typing this **** as F4R. Ive been sitting back reading the forum here and there when I can....and I ended up seeing this and it bugged me. Ford and other car manufactures do the same **** they leak rumors and full on actual cars with wraps to hide the true form of the car all the time and people talk about it and wish it were released already. I get it....you all wish it was done BUT its not...and its not going to be for a bit of time. I don't know what road blocks they've had but I know from semi more important **** that when you create something new it takes time and sometimes it takes MORE time then initially perceived due to limiting factors beyond your control. This again is a helmet....that is a TOY....its hardly something important enough to have so much drama about.

Man.....I really hope that the prop replica which "we" all plan to purchase (for high dollar) in order to add to our curating collection is not, in fact considered just a "TOY". Please say it isn't so!?

I've been asked before by Gino to pass information to the members in this thread before. My last response was not one of those times. I just wanted to reiterate the things that have been covered in some of the Celebration threads. Gino told me at the eFX booth that we probably won't see this helmet released for another year or two and that's what I wanted you all to know. Gino is the only eFX employee who is a member of TDH so he is your best bet for an "official" statement.

It's well documented that eFX has a tendency to have....extended timelines for their projects. The eFX Captain America shields are a fine example. They showed them off after the film's release in 2012 and finally took orders last May. I believe that those are planned to be shipping to customers at some point this summer. I can appreciate that hey want to have things done right but It sucks for us who are the ones on the sidelines waiting to get our mitts on these items. They are not like Sideshow who will wait until a project is closer to completion before the item is announced. But unlike Sideshow, they won't release an item until they are pleased with the accuracy of the prop that is released to the public. Waiting is unfortunately something that many of us in the Fett community have become accustomed to.

KenChen is a fellow member of TDH as seen by his posting further up in the thread. I don't personally know him but I didn't want misinformation like the rumor he stated to spread. I'm not calling him output I just don't want people to believe things that are false.

Extra information and clarification appreciated. I'll refrain from any further comment until we hear word from Efx. Good luck, Gino and crew.

Hopefully soon!

I texted Gino earlier although I can't guarantee that he will chime in. I know that he recently completed a very large project so hopefully that will open up his schedule to where he can more easily pass information on to us.

Word on the street is that a few unauthorized casts of the ESB hero were handed out after the mold was made and once LucasFilm found out they threw a fit and brought a halt to the production...

OMG... really? Where do these tall-tales come from? I have to believe this is just more of the silliness started by the regular detractors, who, as usual, are so far in left field, their suppositions and rumor-mongering would be laughable if they weren't so pathetic. Having been involved in this project from day one, I can emphatically state that none of this is true.

First, what is with the angst and lashing out at Scott? You posted up your thoughts and seemed to be interested in getting clarification and when Scott offers it, you just all over him because he does? It seems like you are transposing your frustration with eFX on Scott and Dom... Stay on Target and don't undermine yourself by attacking those who are trying to help you.

Now, to respond to a few of your points specifically.

Efx was able to mold the Boba Fett ESB and make copies that they said would be fully painted and wearable for sale to the public.

Not 100% accurate. eFX holds the prop license. They are not licensed to make wearable costume pieces. Now... that doesn't mean that you couldn't place one of their helmets on your head, but based on their license, their offerings aren't intended to be wearable.

ANOVOS secured the license to make wearable helmet/costume replicas at some point in the last year or so (I really don't know when they began molding/3D scanning, etc.).

To the best of my knowledge, they began 3D scanning and researching in early 2014, almost immediately after obtaining their license.

Although not part of their website's lineup currently, ANOVOS has stated that they WILL be producing Boba Fett.

Further evidence can be seen in this video where you can see both the original ESB helmet scan and an early version of their 3D model.

Star Wars fans take note: Local company makes replicas of movie costumes | FOX6Now.com

They had many fully assembled costumes for display at C7. It is unknown whether or not these were production samples or prototypes.

Most are only prototypes.

Efx and our very own Art Andrews went to great lengths to acquire permission to mold the ESB Hero. This had never been done before, and probably never will be again.

Not entirely true... The ESB helmet has been molded before. It was molded for Jedi (it is the source of the stunt helmets) and at least 2 copies are in private hands, the most notable being TDH member, Banzai. In regard to whether it will ever be molded again... well, the Skywalker Archives have made it pretty clear that NOTHING will ever get molded again from their collection, which is why ANOVOS is taking the non-invasive 3D approach.

As far as I know, this product was always intended to be a fully wearable replica, similar, but far superior to the Master Replicas helmet.

Again, eFX does not hold a license that allows them to make wearable costumes, only prop replicas. Take that technicality for what it is worth. And yes, their original casting is far better than Master Replicas botched scan of the PP3.

1. How did they/will they acquire pieces to use for armor/soft parts? Were they able to return to the LucasFilm archives to mold/scan the additional armor pieces? Are they going to be made from fan-build kits available here? Are they partnering with ANOVOS to have access to ANOVOS's forthcoming molds/scans?

Highly unlikely... on all counts.

I could be totally off the mark, but what it LOOKS like is that ANOVOS has put the kibosh on the Efx's original plans for a wearable helmet. I really hope that is not the case.

Doubtful that ANOVOS' efforts have an effect on eFX, but the wearable aspect... well, I have said it twice already.

I still have my fingers crossed that this project (helmet) is able to reach our hands. Any official update would be very welcome.

Pretty sure we are all in this same boat.

Preparing for the ban hammer....

All of that... rude and unnecessary for those who are trying to help you. No need for a ban hammer, but a bit of give and take would go a long way.

Interesting information. I will withhold any thoughts on the subject until we get an official comment from
gino (if that happens).
