    Feb 14, 2008, 7:18 AM - Early version ESB cape ???? #1

    Hi all

just seen this somewhere on the net (won't say where). The guy is selling these as 'early' version ESB capes. I like to think that i know a little about our Mr Fett, but i have never seen these before. I have seen the early towel capes on the albino Fett but nothing like this. So come on guys can any shed any light on this. Was this an early cape version

Perhaps "early tesb" refers to publicity shots? Depending on the source's printing quality, the colours could be misinterpreted

But judging by the pic, the colours look like they would get a lil lost against corridor walls of cloud city which could have led to the darker screen used colour?

Don't think it appears in any of the Mcquarrie concept art. Doesn't look familiar either.....

looks like a recast of my racing stripe beach towl

    buyer beware

muhaha. truth be told, it looks alright, but the color is definitely off.

for the perfectionist i say no,

for the common fan, if the price is right sure.

some of us didn't even know the difference between rotj and esb when we started. so an imperfection in color isn't an incredible killer, especially once it's weathered.

agreed, I've come across many people claiming to sell "movie accurate" props. I think they try to target the Holloween crowd more than the actual TDH or 501st member. you don't see em trying to pawn that off on here.

I just emailed this guy and basically asked him how he can list this as a "screen accurate" cape and why is he charging $99, he said " if you know of the correct colours, can you help me" I said, "only if you lower your price"

It honestly looks like a TK409 cape with different colors. But no matter how screen acurate the cape is, it shouldn't sell for more than $35.

That guy must be a total tool....so in his response he freely admits that it is not "movie accurate" and then proceeds to recruit your help. The nerve of some people. He got called to the floor and wants help to further his motives.

I'd drop him like a sack of bricks.

Believe me, i'm NOT going to help him. it takes brass stones to ask $99 for a piece of cloth and even bigger stones to list it as "movie accurate"???

    huh?

That is engrish gone horribly horribly wrong. I'd say in the translation "i like taking idiots money" comes over as "screen accurate"

    I love online translators sometimes.
