Ok folks just a little heads up. A job opening finally opened up at Adelphi College where my father in law works. Ive been waiting for this one as it will end up a good job. I have applied, and he did his magic to bump me to the top of the list. Its temp for summer but as long as i dont botch it up i will be permanent after that due to his connections there. What sucks is the hours are 4PM to 12AM for the summer. Not the end of the world but what this means is that i wont have the time i had before to work on the props as much, so delivery times will get extended. Not sure when exactly this will start, as i still have to go through the motions and get interviewed n such, but hey. Its a real job, thats once its permanent will also have good benefits. Of course i will keep working and try to get as much out as i can before the job starts. Good thing about the hours is i can still work a little bit during the day, but keep in mind, i do need to have a life lol.

Also due to this job, i will not be doing runs anymore beyond the names posted in the first post. BUT once the names on the list are all taken care of, i will still cast kits and when one is ready, i will contact the next person i have on the tentative list. and continue to do that.

I am NOT stopping making stuff, it will just slow down a bit once im working again.

Thank you all for understanding, and i look forward to continuing to offer my items to you all.

Seriously though... Congrats to you... real life is more important than hobbies. (that's what my good lady keeps trying to tell me anyway)
 
Remember by all means i am not stopping at all! just wont be as fast, so i'll take less orders to balance everything out :)

Wasteland, it is a custodial position at Adelphi College. My father in law works there ( been there 13yrs)and we have been waiting for this position to open up again. Basically it works like this...

they hire 12 people as temp for the summer. then keep 2-5 people, who are then permanent but part time. then the part time eventually will switch to full time. Because my father in law works there, he said as long as i do well, not to worry about becoming permanent. Once im in and permanent i then can become union. My start pay will be 16.50hr but once im permanent that goes up. to between 18 and 20hr. Then there is overtime if i want it, random night shifts atdouble time if i want, sick days, vaction days, full benefits, including dental, 401K etc etc.

The interview went very well today and im pretty sure im in. They are doing the mandatory background check and calling 3 references but i see no problems there.

the shift for the temp summer postion is 4PM till 12AM, which really isnt bad at all. job starts May 23rd.
