Sweet pics wish I could be there.
Great pics, those costumes all look great. That Mayor McCheese is amazing and frightening all at the same time. I always wondered would the mayor eat himself if he was stranded on an island?
Woohoo! Awesome pics Braks! LOVE Mayor McCheese - fantastic work DCB.
For a second there I thought that gunner had a dented helmet:lol... just the reflection of the light though. Excellent pics as always!
REALLY nice!!!
Nathan
excelent photos! I love the upside down knees with the orange/red lighting!
Amazing as always, Art. So crisp and bright and professional. The lighting is amazing... and the angles, flawless.
As for the costumes - wow. People never cease to amaze me with their ability to make such quality stuff... SOOO glad Art is capturing them in a way that does them justice and enables us to all really, really appreciate the art of it all.
Guri
PS. Art, your tagline rocks. ;)

:cheers That costume is just freaking Cool!! And now that you have the blasters it looks even better:thumbup :thumbup
Okay, what do you mean by upside down knees?
Huh?
excellent shots, love the pic of JFJ in the carbon freeze
Awesome pics ! I love the Mayor !!!
Great pics Braks!
Now that I have my suit completed, I'd definitely be "in" for a photo shoot if you're ever back in Cali.
Cruzer,
I might be doing a shoot in early Oct somewhere around the San Diego area. :) If you can make it, I will have to take you out for breakfast since you covered it the last time!
Thanks for all the compliments everyone. However, I want to point out that it is the costumes that make the pictures, not the other way around. The hard work and excellent outfits really make this job VERY easy! I am blown away again and again at the skill and talent we have here!
I may just cruise down for the festivities for this one
From what I heard, The pics with the upsidedown knees were taken right after jeremy was hired to play fett. Apparently the first time he had to put the suit on, or one of the first times, he had no one to help him suit up, and he simply made a mistake & put the knees on upside down. Thats what i heard!!
D
I still wanna know how he got dressed solo. Great pictures.
This is one of the coolest pics i have ever seen of a fan Fett.
fantastic costume, fantastic photography :thumbup
even the knee's on on upside down WOW......very carbon freeze chamber
Lol, would anyone mind if I took these down to walmart and had them printed out? Or does someone here do that already, hmmm?
i always love lookin at these pics
which is why I want to print them out!!!
Brak's: are you using seamless paper for a backdrop? What sort of lighting set-up do you have? What camera are you using?
Ultra Sweet job on the pics and the costumes all are rocking! Looking forward to the day I finish my Pre-pro and get a photoshoot.
For this shoot I am using seamless, although, since I am usually travelling, most of my shoots are on Muslin (which I hate using after going to seamless).
My light setup is... hmmm..
I have a key light high and to the right at 45. I have a fill light a bit lower and to the left at 45. I tend to play with the intensity of each depending on the model. I have a hairlight that I sometimes use to seperate a model from the background, but rarely. I have a background light that is mounted almost directly above the model.
For a pic like the carbon freezing chamber, I had one light on the floor, under fett, with an orange gel. I had a blue gel on the background. I think I also had the hairlight on in that photo which brings in the white lining on the left side of the image.
For a pic like the vader kneeling, I had two assistants holding light down low on either side of Vader.
That is pretty much it. While 90% of my pics have the same lighting, I am not afraid to adjust and move the lights as needed for a nicer effect. The problem with that is the time and effort it takes to get those type of images... If I had more time with each person I would definitely be taking more pictures with specific and specialized lighting.
BTW, The camera I have is a Rebel XT. It is not the top of the line, but it is more camera than I currently know how to use (I am still just learning all of this stuff) and it seems to turn out photos that people are happy with.
Excellent job as always Art!!!
Darren:fettesb
TK-409 in his amazing C-3PO!
...woa... awesome 3po
C-3PO has got to be a tricky shoot because of the reflections. I would love to see this costume in person.:doh Maybe C4?
Bountys Hunted as a Colonial Marine from ALIENS. :D
Awesome!!
Bountys Hunted as 'Dead End" Batman.
We had to build a tent out of white sheets to shoot 3PO with Brak's peeking his camera in to shoot so we would have no funny reflections. It was awesome to finally see this suit in person. He's got the voice down as well. Amazing
Beautiful pics, absolutely stunning! Everybody looks awesome! Rex's Batman rocks!:thumbup
ohh!! look at the tiny bats on the suit!
Here is Galactic Bounty Hunter's AWESOME Jango Fett!
Wow, the Batman is fantastic! The Aliens rifle looks really good close up too. Chris, that C-3PO is just amazing, and Mirax I can just barely see the reflection of your fingers holding the sheets together. Psych, just kidding :lol Art, you're a slavedriver! :lol
:thumbsup
:skull
wow. those are just as amazing as the others. Thanks for the lighting info. I was wondering what light equipment you are using as well as where you had them set. Good lights that are easily portable and are digital compatible are something I'm kinda looking into.
great idea on the tent for 3-po. That's pretty much how jewelry and small reflective stuff is photographed. Doing it on a large scale was just brilliant!
Here is Eric's Hellboy costume. And I am spent.... Night...
Fantastic pics! Really awesome looking costumes.
Nice job on the costumes and pics. Quick note to those pictured here who are also 501st members, we are always looking for great studio-quality pics to use on the 501st.com home page as well as for other public relations material. Please e-mail me if you'd like to submit your pics as "the face of the Legion." Thanks!
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!
Thats me as Marv Below

Thanks a bunch to JFJ for stepping in as :fettesb so I could get that shot!
Art is a master. His livingroom was a huge ceiling to floor-wall-to-wall studio. His lighting techniques and camera work are freaking amazing. Thanks again Art!!
Here's a couple more...

Man, there is some SERIOUS talent represented in this thread. Wow...
TK409 ... you've got an amazing C-3PO. Glad I was able to meet ya and see it!
I've also gotta thank Art for the pictures and for letting me borrow his real MG-34. I think this will be my favorite Death Star Gunner picture:

Here is another picture of my Vader that I really like:
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f3.../IMG_20203.jpg
I'll be posting a link for all my pics from this and from the Con later today when I finish uploading them.
I'm extremely grateful to Art taking the photos, Kristen for helping out and getting everything organized, and to Scott for giving me space in his already packed full vehicle to get to the shoot. Definitely worth it, I'm so glad I was able to get a spot. Now I just can't wait to see my photos ;) I love what I've seen so far!
JFJ, your Fett looks great!
:thumbsup

I think it's safe to say there's almost no wrong way to wear the ESB knees ;)
HAHA that is great :)
Art and Kristen thanks again for doing these pics for all of us. I had a blast doing it, even with all the "gayest Fett" comments. ;) I got to look at them on my computer today at full res. and I was totally stunned at how they came out. I am so happy and will be contacting you again for some more pics sometime. Thanks Again.
Mark
Just photoshopped this a bit to show what we were going for with the lighting. Too bad we didn't have a little more time to perfect it, along with a fog machine ;)

The sad thing is, these awesome photos just make me realize how urgently I need to upgrade some parts :lol
Awesome Graeme! These pics are fantastic man.
Graeme... stunning man... absolutely stunning.
One last set of pics. These were done a bit hastily so no dramatic lighting pics. However, I think Mirax looks awesome in these!
WOW! Kristen you have one of the best Moritas I've seen? Is it a Fiberglass Hero?
It is a screenused fiberglass live-firing hero that was damaged in filiming. As the front end was damaged, it was cut off and I converted it to a carbine for her as seen being carried by the higher ranking officers in the movie.
I love those guns, they are just highly evolved FAMAS' rifles haha. Guess the french finally did something right! :cheers
Looks great Kristen!
Looks ****** Mirax! In the first few shots you're so happy and then BAM! Gotta fight bugs warrior face!!
AWESOME Brak's!!!:thumbsup
Some very exciting images in this session. I sincerely wish I could have been present for each person photographed. It is a fascinating process.
Thank you Kristen for your aide in organizing and assisting in this shoot.
Graeme, you were an excellent squire when it came tyme to suit up. I thank you whole heartedly.
Art, once again I thank you for your professional service and artistic input. I have used photos from our session to add "BOUNTY HUNTER" at last to my 501st profile. I have also submitted our shots for my 501st trading card. Still other images may be used for the 501st main page.
In short, I am getting some use from our session. Thank you all.
