In France Disney treat the 501 st Member like a **** ! We have fear that they can be forbidden us to wear our costume ! this month we will do a private events at Disney France and at last minute Disney say "we cant use you all because that's can be an illegal non declared working" but it's wrong we are in legal french association and they just used his f...ing argument for not used us. Many of us have reserved the train ticket and ask a journey specialy for the disney events and just before the events they said NO !
They are them own star wars costume ... and we think may be that they will forbidden us to participate at any official events in our country.
We make events for collect fund for charity associations and most of the time the transport and all is at our charge.

that is what Disney do in our country !

we are worried about the futur... we hope G. Lucas will protect us....

Euro Disney is not owned or run by Disney though.
Disney are a major shareholder but do not own or run the park so decisions in Paris are not neccessarily anything to do with the Disney brand.

I dont think that you understand Disney bought the company, and that the company isnt being changed. Like Sears bought Kmart, its still Kmart, they didnt change the name...they added craftsmen tools and other things to the store which made getting their stuff available in more locations. Disney bought LFL which means they will make the $$ off the films which are being made by LFL, they own pixar you didnt see it go away did you? No because they only bought the company to financially back the company to increase their pocket book, its business...they're going to let LFL make the SW movies instead of just doing Clone Wars which whether you like it or not is close to an end...the clone wars end at EpIII. Ep VII is going to be a continuation something that will make EVERYONE here happy...hopefully they take into account that the Fett man escaped the sarlacc and makes an appearance in the movies. Wearing ESB armor as his ROTJ stuff was trashed.
    EXACTLY!!!

Re: Disney To Buy Lucasfilm For $4.05 Billion

I have hopes for the movies. Disney has done very well with Marvel with Avengers, but even more so with the comics. My first fear with comics was characters like Wolverine and Punisher would either vanish or being toned WAY down and be made boring. Instead the MAX versions (or the Rated R Adult versions) continue to do well. However I'm wary when it comes to our costumes. Many of you have claimed it'll be business as usual and I hope so. However Disney has a history of being VERY strict with their copywrites and trademarks. I'll enclose thi link to a story at the bottom, but in summary this girl wanted her and her BF to dress as Tinkerbell and Peter Pan for his first visit there, instead of having a blast Disney kicked them out because "she was too authentic" and people were having their pictures taken with her and "could be mistaken for their "official" Tinkerbell." They did this to a paying customer over some green cloth and some glitter make-up. Do you really believe they'll restrict or halt us if one of the higher ups thinks it's best? Up til now we've been protected by GL and his people being understanding and enjoying the good publicity we've given them, but even with that he wasn't as tight with his property as Disney is of theirs. I'm not calling for the end of trooping as we know it, but I'm taking more of a watch and learn approach rather than a everything is always gonna go our way approach.

From what I read in the article in that link, it's just standard policy at Disney parks not to allow people in Disney character costumes, nothing about her costume being too authentic, so I'm not sure it has any relation to an organized trooping event. I believe they've even relaxed this policy on occasion and had a couple of designated "costume days" where they'll let people dress up.

Indeed, they broke the rules...same with showing up dressed up in SW on your own, you cant just show up as Fett, unless its allowed. The Florida Garrison gets invited yearly like others have said. We get a list together of WHO will be showing up and when, only 1 Vader and 1 Fett you know the deal, and we get special dressing area and such...its very organized, not just show up at the gate in costume.

And again...i will say...Disney is not taking over LFL. See my previous post about that, and how Disney protects it primary IP like that, not their secondary properties. Lucasfilm is still being run by Lucasfilm. I have no worries.

you know what be cool? If they made a movie about the Mandalorian war with Darth Revan! I think it'd be cool anyway...

I'm personally excited about new movies being made. There's a lot of stories within the expanded universe that they could touch light on. Plus, I really hope they make Boba Fett much more prominent of a character!

I'm actually hoping they don't use Boba Fett too much, if at all.

I figure a lot of Fett's appeal is (was?) the mystery behind him. I remember getting the send-away action figure of Fett, thinking his armor was cool and knowing nothing about him- not even if he was a good guy or a bad guy. I'm not sure I connected the action figure with the cameo in the Star Wars Holiday special or not. I was slightly disappointed that he had such little screen time once Empire came out, and his death in Jedi was underwhelming, but there was still something cool about the character. I thought bringing him back from the Sarlaac was a good thing, after all he went in with all his weapons and armor so it always seemed possible he could've made his way out.

Then the comics started trying to come up with a back story for him, not just hinting at it, but trying to tell it outright. The more I learned about Fett, the less mystery there was. He was still cool, but not as cool as he was. Then Episode II over-wrote the back story the comics created and we now have a pretty good idea of what he looks like under that mask... and he still isn't as cool as he was.

So, while on the one hand, I would love to see more Fett adventures and escapades, on the other hand I really don't want to know more about him. I wouldn't mind some vague hints, but I don't want to know everything about him. I think I already know too much. He's lost that "man with no name" feel, which is part of what made him so cool in the first place.

I'm totally agree with you! Just to don't go too far, there is always the ESB vs. ROTJ fight between the Boba Fett fans regarding the 'passive' but 'talk-back-to-Vader' stance in ESB and the 'active' but 'accidentally-hit-by-a-blind-man-then-eaten-by-a-giant-hole' stance in ROTJ. If he will have (in a future Star Wars movie) the same appearance and time spent on screen as Jango Fett in Episode II, I'm sure that all his moves and dialogues will be analyzed and criticized to the extreme, and some or why not all of his actions would be rejected by the fans. This is why I say: the less Boba Fett the better! I know this is an insult and a blasphemy, but think like this: if we knew from the beginnings all the behind stories and the suit components, all the measurements, the odds and ends of Boba Fett, I'm sure that TDH wouldn't exist as it is today and we have not had that fever to discover the mysteries of the best bounty hunter in the whole galaxy.
