Disney To Buy Lucasfilm For $4.05 Billion

I'm actually hoping they don't use Boba Fett too much, if at all.

I figure a lot of Fett's appeal is (was?) the mystery behind him. I remember getting the send-away action figure of Fett, thinking his armor was cool and knowing nothing about him- not even if he was a good guy or a bad guy. I'm not sure I connected the action figure with the cameo in the Star Wars Holiday special or not. I was slightly disappointed that he had such little screen time once Empire came out, and his death in Jedi was underwhelming, but there was still something cool about the character. I thought bringing him back from the Sarlaac was a good thing, after all he went in with all his weapons and armor so it always seemed possible he could've made his way out.

Then the comics started trying to come up with a back story for him, not just hinting at it, but trying to tell it outright. The more I learned about Fett, the less mystery there was. He was still cool, but not as cool as he was. Then Episode II over-wrote the back story the comics created and we now have a pretty good idea of what he looks like under that mask... and he still isn't as cool as he was.

So, while on the one hand, I would love to see more Fett adventures and escapades, on the other hand I really don't want to know more about him. I wouldn't mind some vague hints, but I don't want to know everything about him. I think I already know too much. He's lost that "man with no name" feel, which is part of what made him so cool in the first place.

I'm totally agree with you! Just to don't go too far, there is always the ESB vs. ROTJ fight between the Boba Fett fans regarding the 'passive' but 'talk-back-to-Vader' stance in ESB and the 'active' but 'accidentally-hit-by-a-blind-man-then-eaten-by-a-giant-hole' stance in ROTJ. If he will have (in a future Star Wars movie) the same appearance and time spent on screen as Jango Fett in Episode II, I'm sure that all his moves and dialogues will be analyzed and criticized to the extreme, and some or why not all of his actions would be rejected by the fans. This is why I say: the less Boba Fett the better! I know this is an insult and a blasphemy, but think like this: if we knew from the beginnings all the behind stories and the suit components, all the measurements, the odds and ends of Boba Fett, I'm sure that TDH wouldn't exist as it is today and we have not had that fever to discover the mysteries of the best bounty hunter in the whole galaxy.
