DAZ aka BobaMaker...

Hey all.
I haven't posted much here at all other than the occasional compliment or question, but I feel compelled to post now about Daz aka BobaMaker...

The guy...is..incredible.

I mean, I joined up here last November knowing this is THE best place to find what I was looking for : a replica prop Boba Fett costume. My intent with it is possible application into the 501st, I'm unsure I can dedicate any time to something like that with the very busy family life I have, but I do display my collectables and plan to get alot of use out of this for my kids, events for them, and of course Halloween with them - that's what's most important! I have a Vader I purchased a few years back from someone somewhere else and while I was very satisfied with it when everything was finally sorted out, it was a pretty rough situation dealing with little to no communication with a few thousand bucks out there waiting for a product and still having issues to sort. Anyway, this isn't about that....:D

So now comes TDH and searches led me right to Daz. I did a few weeks of research and reading, looked around various links and read many, many, MANY threads on here from you all and I decided it I was going to do this, I might was well do it once, do it right, and do it damned good....

So after contacting Daz in November and settling up on a price for everything he offered, fully painted and weathered up, I sat down with my wife, and we decided that it should happen.

8 months of constant communication, constant updates, and Daz being EXTREMELY patient with me doing my best to email only once a month for update requests so as not to pester. :wacko But he was extremely patient assuring me I can email him any time I wanted for an update - I was not pestering to him!

Now, after his horrible injury and 8 months later, it's here. I went through hell with DHL, through no fault of Daz trying to get it from them through customs today - and he evcen offered to help me sort that out, but it was out of his hands. This only speaks further volumes about him. But I got it and I have to say I can't be happier with it. My wife and kids and I opened it all together and we all were blown away. It's not ready to wear out of the box. I have to do the obvious attaching the armor to the vest, getting it to fit right, and I have only a small few parts to obtain that he unfortunately doesn't fabricate (braids, girthbelt, boots, hoses, cape), but I have to say, and this is NOT putting down any of the fine artists here, but man Daz is incredible. There really are no words for his artistry. If you can afford it, go for it. Well worth the wait and the money. He had mentioned that his wife fabricates all of the soft parts and in that department I am even more amazed. I have no idea how they did this, but everything fits absolutely PERFECTLY. I'm 6 foot 5 and thin, ok? I can't even go to the store to find jeans that fit me right, nevermind having someone across the pond I have never seen nor spoken to make me a flight suit and vest that fit me better than any of my own clothes just by emailing 3 measurements....

I have emailed him my thanks and I feel that it's only right that I post my thanks to him publically here for being so patient wth me these past 8 months of construction of this complete Fett. His communication throughout, his professionalism, his craftsmanship and his artistry are matched only by his patience and understanding of a purchaser's needs to feel comfortible in any transaction, nevermind one of this size and sheer cost. Excellent, breath taking work and it's been a pleasure. I'll never pass up a chance to make his name synonymous with right-off-the-set, movie quality Boba Fett Replica Props.

Thank you, Daz! Jeremy should be proud that you're doing what you are for what many of us consider HIS character.

And lastly, but not least, I want to thank the TDH staff and it's members. You guys and gals will never know how much you've helped me in my search for what I needed with this. Every single one of you should feel enormous pride in the simple fact that you all, every day, help people whether you know it or not get what they are looking for. I will do my best to try and be more active, and I'll try and drop in pictures of events my family and I do where I'm suited up and if I decide to hit up an application for the 501st, I'll be sure to post too. Thanks TDH and Daz!

his stuff is really good , i bought a flight suit off him and i loved it now i'm waiting on my helmet my self just another month to go till he starts on it ^^

I couldn't agree with you more. Daz is the friendliest guy to deal with. Always helpful and, obviously, very talented.

Now we want to see some pics!

I'll get started on pics as soon as I can. heh
Just got back from a root canal and filling, so I'll be out of it for a little while. lol

yes i got all my armor from DAZ and i to am very happy....great communication and he gives you a fairly accurate timeline ...should be getting a few pieces of armor and a flight suit from him soon

I agree with everyone, Daz IS the best. I bought a deluxe helmet kit from him last winter. It is everything everyone said it would be. Unfortunately, my plans and finances fell through and I need to sell it. It's up on the cargo hold if anyones interested. Daz will definately be who I go to in the future, even if you do have to wait 5 months to get it!

It's well worth the wait.
I already went about attaching the hose to one of the gaunts (talk about being paranoid the entire time), and hopefully time willing, this week I'll have the armor fitted to the vest and foam padding inside the helmet. I plan to do what I ended up doing with my Vader and just industrial strength velcro the armor to the vest, and with the paddings, I find it best to velco them in too, so I can swap them out when they get old/worn/sweaty/what have you. The Knees I'm on the fence on how to go about best attaching them for wearing, and the cod/butt I have a decent idea up my sleeve without the famous Fett-Thong. lol :)

I have to pick up a girth belt and stain it, the boots I'm on a waiting list for, the cape is in the mail on it's way, and I have to pick up the proper color / length horsehair (or synthetic) for the braids and it's complete. Just need to do tons and tons of test fittings throughout before I feel comfortible enough to post a shot of me in it here. lol

Alot of Fett armor makers, including myself, have come and gone but BM is one of the best and a stand up guy from what ive seen of his dealings in the past.

The best part about Daz's products is you but them once' not like these other version 1, 2 ,3's his stuff is tough. Other then that he is a true gentleman.
