custom mandalorian origin idea

well...here's my idea for my custom mandolorian: say a fett just crash landed on earth and his final act was to bequeath his belongings to a human. (yea, kinda like hal jordan for you comic guys) so he dons the armor and continues where the previous fett left off. some of his suit would be composed of equipment native to earth, such as a military backpack instead of jet pack, military belt, and grey denim for the jumpsuit, and an XM8 modified to shoot laser blasts. watcha think? yea, the idea came to me because it would be cheaper haha. but what can i do? junior in high school with no job :|
thanks.

check out the dented variants thread and the mando mercs site and youll see many of those. as far as being in junior hs and not having a job, trashcan armor an wof templates will be your friend for your armor... lucky those links/tutorials are right on this site. as for the soft goods, army/navy surplus stores are your friends.

I know what your thinking...."trash can armor:(" but check out the posts and YOU JUST MIGHT change your mind... doing a low budget mando can be done without going the earth-denim route. dont get me wrong if your vision is that way and you want to try it, then by all means go for it.8) but if you really wanna do a more traditional mando try the TRASH CAN ROUTE! 8) IF ANYONE HAS ANY PICS OF WHAT A COMPLETED TRASH CAN COSTUME CAN LOOK LIKE CAN YOU POST IT HERE FOR HIM? Thanks!

Yep, you'd be amazed at what some folks have done with found parts to make them look like they are from a galaxy far far away.

yepp... they are in the "cargo hold" section. I just added a light mist coat of flat black to them to tone down the grey weathering. I put some updated pics on that thread for you.

Use your resources dont settle for what is in front of you.Take your time to search out what you need.Map out a plan and a goal and stick to them.
Building a outfit you invision does take time. And by all means use this site to "network" advice and help.At the end of your project you will be so much happier when you do it right then settling for a "denim suit"
