My Son's Han Solo 'Empire Strikes Back' Costume - (FINISHED PICS ADDED 10/25!!!)

Hello, all!

Okay, so this year I have decided to put together a Han Solo 'Empire Strikes Back' costume for my 4 year old son for Halloween.

I am putting a call out to seamstresses or costumers who would like to tackle the job. Please reply to this thread or PM me with a bid.

I would like it to be good looking, with decent material and able to hold up to a 4 year old's level of activity, but it does not have to be super high end. But I do need it to be sturdy. I had a jedi costume made for him 2 years ago and the inner tunic fell apart in less than one day!

I am thinking the jacket, the trousers, the shirt for the seamstress job.

I am also open to ideas on how to go about getting the belt, holster, and boots in his size.

I promise to post in progress pics as the costume comes together.

Thanks.

Hector

Thanks, MandalorFett. Just sent her an IM. Anybody else? Anybody know how to go about the leather pieces? Belt, holster, boots?

Depending on how accurate you want to be, those items can be done with a vinyl.

Do you want to buy the boots? Or do you want to consider shoe covers that look like boots?

Okay, so ladysewforus has come through and is going to do the jacket for me. I am also going to buy the boots. Got a good set right here in my 4 year old's size. I think they're pretty darn close and perfectly 'scaled' to his size (and not too expensive, either).

I am still looking for somebody who can make a belt and holster that is reasonably similar to the screen-used item. Front buckle, back buckle, and holster sling.

Anybody?

Okay!! Today was the debut of my son's 95% completed Han Solo costume. Here are the pics. Let me know what you guys think. Bloodstripes are the last detail and will be added this week for Halloween day. Otherwise, it's done. Oh and I have to paint the handle of the gun as well. Shirt is the only item I am unhappy with as it is store bought. Down the line, I hope to have one custom made.

Very happy with how it turned out. My thanks to LadySewForUs and 99CentTaco from the Dented Helmet forums who jammed out the rockin' jacket and the amazing belt/holster, respectively.

Psyched with how it turned out. Anxious to hear what you guys think. Pics are at my brother in law's house at a little Halloween party they threw for the kids.

Thanks, guys! I cannot say enough what beautiful work was done by LadySewForUs on the jacket and 99CentTaco on his belt.

Top notch work and all home-grown talent from here at TDH!
