COSFEST Singapore 2008 & Iron Man

Halo 1

Well-Known Hunter
Hi Hunters,

Just finished 'crashing' COSFEST 08, an event for Anime and Manga fans held yearly in Singapore.

As movie buffs, my team and I went down in Tac-wear [I'm Rios, AOT fame ], and provided security for our latest suit, Iron Man. :)

It was kinda nice to steal the thunder from the various Anime characters in the event...suffice to say, crowd control was interesting...

Stay safe,

Tim.

that's a great iron man suit! though i do find the young lady next to it quite distracting ;)

and i noticed that you have no orange tips on your guns. this isn't a problem where you are?

Thanks bro! She is isn't she? She's a blogger that loves skimpy outfits and a part-time model...her shoots are always interesting. 8)

The weapons we are holding, are all props. 8) Hehe...

at an anime convention in boston recently a bunch of people were arrested for having realistic props like that :(

if there isn't a bright orange tip, the police tend to assume its real without asking. and even if it isn't, it's illegal to carry without the tip. really hurts the look of otherwise great costumes. stupid safety!

Understandable, but in Singapore, no one can own a gun/rifle. Even those with gun permits, have to leave their weapons at the club.

You finished a full Iron Man costume, Tim? That is awesome!!! Looks fantastic, my old friend from overseas!

How much does that costume weigh? .... as much as a Predator suit?

Wait a minute...YOU made that suit ? If so, that's one of the best proportioned ones out there to date !!! PM if you have details on it.

Hi Andy, thanks! It's full fiberglass, alot heavier than a Pred suit but alot easier to wear. :)

Jose, thanks. It was a team effort built. I thought we made the bells a little too big...we were going to size it down though. What do you need? LMK.

You mean there's an Iron Man suit in these pics? I'm with Brian... HAHAHAHAHA

Sorry Tim. ;)

 No worries Bob...she does that alot...

Just curious, since my Predator suit weighs close to 50 pounds. Wasn't sure the weight of Iron Man.

My next Predator suit should be considerably lighter. That's the goal anyway.

In the pictures you posted in that other thread, the torso sculpt had the sides sculpted into it, but the guy wearing the costume for that convention didn't have that....only the red bodysuit underneath. Why'd he omit that part?

PS- I love the oversized shoulders actually. Makes him look more beefy and tough, regardless of screen accuracy. :)

To be honest, the suit was rushed out in time for COSFEST, hence the missing torso bits. Those are being molded now. :)

I would have preferred to have waited till we got the full torso done but my bud did want to showcase the suit early...oh well. :)

Glad you like the oversized bells, however, am probably gonna redo it...once I get back from Celebration Japan. :) The musclebound look will work with taller guys but on a frame like mine, i'll just look....uh....weird?

Thanks again everyone!

Stay safe,

Tim.

Thats one awsome Iron Man, and one awsome eye candy too! :p ;) And also, kudos to your "secuirty" team, they all look preety awsome as well! :cheers
