Hey Guys! I'm going to ConnectiCon on July 31st and was wondering if anyone else was going..

i went last year... there wasn't really much going on that i was interested in, so i don't think i'll be doing it again.

I was actually looking at their site today. Every year I think about it and every year I decided against it. There's just nothing there to draw me...it's all anime. If they'd broaden the con into more sci-fi and pop-culture like other cons I'd definitely go.

I've gone for the past two years and there has always been a huge Star Wars turn out. Last year there was life size R2, it was amazing, remote control and everything. Plus the Rebel Legion goes.

I think there's a couple Mercs that will be there from the looks of things. So you won't be alone Isabet (at least on Saturday!).

I'll be up there in a few days but will just miss it...I have a wedding to go to in Old Saybrook...

Going to a Yankees game, canoeing and going to show my wife all my old stomping grounds starting with New Haven!

It would of been nice to throw a troop in there too...

I just went to the website and I'm unhappy with their weapons policy.

I know the topic has been discussed many times before. I'm not putting a non-removable orange tip on my blaster.


I understand their reasoning, but this Con isn't for me. Maybe if I had a no weapon costume, but not this year.

like bob said.. from what i get from their website, its mostly anime and cos-play.. i did a quick browse and didnt see much starwars stuff... just not my cup of tea..

i was one of the x wing pilots last year. i brought that, jack harkness and captain hammer. hammer was by FAR the biggest hit.

Awesome! I was dressed as Mara Jade and i had a Chewie following me!

So ConnectiCon was fun. On Saturday the 501st was there, I got a photo with their Boba Fett. He was wicked nice and came over to talk to me when he was out of costume. It was only my boyfriend (neo crusader) and myself, our other clan member didn't come. Also the mercs that were supposed to come, didn't. But it was fun none the less.

I did replace my visor and went with the female armor.

Isabet, you are so petite, but it makes your custom Mando even more kick-@$$ !! I can see your character whoopin' people twice her size ! Nice job!


It also looks like the Con isn't quite as uptight about weapons as their policy would lead you to believe, that's a plus too.

Unfortunately our lone Mercs member there in CT had a family outing to attend. Glad you guys had a great time though! Hopefully by next year we'll have a few more in gear for the con.
