    Comickaze con

So with my FPH2 done just in time for Halloween I decided to go and troop the LA Comickaze con. This was a great chance to break in the suit before trooping other larger events. Needless to say the suit was a hit, once I hit the lobby I think it took about 40 minutes before we actually hit the con floor. I was fortunate to have Ryan(Rubio95) at my side along with two of my other buddies to help me suit up and take pics at the event. I had a great time meeting a few different people and taking pics with all of those who asked. But I will have to say for me the highlight was be asked by Stan Winston Studios School of art to go on camera during their live webcast from the event to talk about the costume you can see it at about the 56 minute mark here Live from Stan Lee's Comikaze! FX Master Demonstrations in Stan Winston School booth. - YouTube

Here are a few pics from Ryan and my other buddies. I will be posting some other pics in the costume thread of the pics that Rubio95 took in the parking garage which turned out great.

Nice! I bumped into you for a brief sec on Saturday, though I was in plain clothes. After talking to you my better half said "You were way too excited at meeting that guy".... Haha! I didn't recognize half of the costumes at that show, but Fett I know!

Suit looks great and glad to hear it was very well received!

    Awesome looking Fett!
What did you use to make the helmet wearable? Hardhat liner? Pads? Magic?

Thanks Guys to make this wonderful lid wearable I used the Skydex pads!!!! They are fantastic and it was not terribly hot in the lid and I would have to say it was because of them. All I had to do after the troop was pull them out and throw them in the wash and they are as good as new.

Good idea. I was thinking about using skydex instead of the foam I have in there already. Where's a good place to get some cheap?

I've heard that the Skydex pads are pretty comfortable and simple to install.

    Re: Comickaze con

I got mine off of ebay for $50 cheaper than the $125 they sell for through the site. For the installation it was real simple as the give you about 20 or so Velcro disks that adhere to the inside. For mine sicne I plasti dipped the inside of the lid it made it a lot easier for the disks to stick and then for the padding I used one in the front and back and one on each side along with the top pad. All said and done when I am looking out of the lid my eye level is just about even with the bottom of the T section and there is no wobble to the lid as the fit is nice and snug.
