Hey DB... I've printed out one of the lids and started building this morning... unfortunately it wouldn't even fit my 4yr old daughter!
Qn - What paper/card size are you using? A3? (I used A4) and if printing from the Papakura Viewer, where would you find the correct scaling factors?
Cheers in advance.
I don't have acess to my computer today, but I will write a short tutorial on resizing based on your height as soon as I can. It involves math, so get out yer calculators.
Basically, in the 2d pattern window button on the toolbar, there is an option to scale up by 10%, an option to scale down by 10%, and an option to scale by other. Click the last one.
Some of you can figure it out from here, (I couldn't) but the rest of you will need help.
I will post the tut in this thread as soon as I can get back to my computer.
Bumperoony for your updates DB? would really like to see your 'full size' lid?
awesome work fellas
i love watching this kinda stuff "unfold" or fold i should say
My computer has been a bit dodgy lately, so I haven't been able to work on the armor much, but here is my full size helmet. I have primed it to see the details of what I need to smooth and shape. I have also started to add details. I have not fiberglassed yet because it is too cold and humid here. That may have to wait for spring, but I will get it done as soon as possible.
On to the pics...
My son's helmet is 90% done. All it needs is lights and padding. I will post pics when he brings it back from his grandparents house. (He had to show it to his uncle...big Halo gamer.)
I have started on the chest and backplates, but I will wait to show pics when it is ready for fiberglassing.
can't wait to see it painted and visored
I forgot to mention that it will be black with a silver chrome visor with white led's in the cheek pieces and white el lights on the side vents. It will also have the somewhat grainy texture that the in-game armor has.
