Hey gang. The snowboard season ended for Brak's and I today ( well actually it ended when Brak's broke his hand 3 weeks ago) and we are already ready for next season!!! We got hooked after our first time, despite busting our butts and being in pain for days afterwards  It's been interesting because since we started this past March, we have since discovered that many of our friends board too!

We thought we would post and see who else around here boards. We also would love to try and plan a TDH snowboard/ski trip for next season if there is enough interest. For dates, we are thinking maybe between Christmas and New Years? As for where, we have several places in mind but are open to suggestions. Vegas (yes, there is a resort just outside of Vegas which is where we go), Brian Head , Park City, Mammoth, or Tahoe. Thoughts? What we would like to try and do would be to rent a house for the time and then split the costs amongst everyone. Also, most places offer discounts on lift tickets for large enough groups. So, I just wanted to throw the idea out there and see if there are any bites.

The Snowboarders Paradise! (y) (y)

Started snowboarding when I was 15 and still going strong 22 years later!
But where ever it is, as long as there's powder, it's all good!

:cheers

Just got caught the tail end of the Spring ski season at Tahoe a couple weeks back. Started boarding over ten years ago and never went back to skiing. Been casually boarding the past 10 years and love surfin' the snow. (y)

Mammoth and Big Bear for me. it was an epic season to say the least. plenty of snow even for California. we should all hook up and share a cabin. that would be a blast.

I would be down 100%. Hope to have a new board finished and in possession by next season. I also have access to multiple places at Mammoth.

Sounds interesting, I will check out the resorts, Is it guaranteed snow?

On the subject of snowboards, does anyone here own the "Boba" Ride board, I am sure it was the Yukon, from about 2000/2001. I wish I had snagged one of those, It is like the board never existed now. I understand they were sued by Lucasfilm and they had to destroy them, I can't even find a photo of one now!

Geeze you guys are all nuts! Snow is freezing cold! As soon as they invent sand boarding you can catch me at the dunes where it is warm and dry! LOL

Well, if we plan a trip, anyone is invited to join us, regardless of your skill level :D Brak's and I are just beginners, our first time was at the beginning of March. You would have a blast tubachris85x!

They already have ;) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandboarding

I used to hate the cold and the snow too...until I started snowboarding :D

yeah, even though i live in the land of ice and fire  i do hate the cold, im a complete wuss when it comes to the cold, but snowboarding and other sports, such as icehockey and snowmobiles and stuff, make you completely forget about the cold

...and a large cup of hot coco in the end of the day! :cheers

Yea, it does actually sound like alot of fun. Im sure I can skip a cruise then. Do you have an estimate of the costs? Because I obviously dont have any gear, so I bet the majority of it all would be from the plane ticket/rental/housing. I would definatly be up for it.

Oh and the cold weather clothes too!

Right on! At a lot of places, you can rent literally everything- clothes and gear. So, once we pick a place, we will see what the costs would be.
