How'd the Pens do tonight? I'd rather poke my eyes out with a hot poker than to see Crosby touch the cup again. Biggest cry baby, wussbag, pansy since mario and is the only NHL player i'd actually fight on the ice. I'll be pulling for who ever's playing pittsburgh...

hahaha. You know how ignorant of a statement that is? You are knocking on one of the NHLs finest and now you are knocking on what is clearly one of today's NHL best. There is more to hockey than being "hardcore" Crosby is without a doubt one of the most aggresive offensive pushers. You don't score breakaway goals or short handed goals passively. His stats alone show how far he pushes. Then again, you are a Flyers fan and that is the ONLY thing I ever hear from Flyers fans... "Crysby". Alls that is is a bandwagon front for those people that were butthurt by the Pens last year. He is no different than any other player. Thats a video my old highschool did in support for our team. Find me other areas that show that much passion. The only way you support your team is by degrading others... in this case, one that is significantly better than yours.

Here in Vancouver, my friends and I always get together to watch playoff games (even though I'm not a huge hockey fan myself), and every one of the people I watch the game with really hate Crosby... but at least they can understand that he's an amazingly talented player, and does a hell of a lot for his team and the NHL as well, and you can't really argue with the numbers you've posted there
The sheer extent that Lucky is going to do slam Crosby and everyone who supports him indicates more insecurity than anything else, really.

Um, ever hear of the "Flyers Wives Fight for lives"?? It's only the largest CARNIVAL in the NHL. I don't know how many millions they've raised, but they helped alot of people. Where's that $$ come from?? Fans like me, who attend every year. So, to answer your questions, the "other area" would be Philadelphia, hands down.

Nope, I am retired unfortunately. I had 3 knee surgeries in 5 years because I kept blowing out my knee playing goalie so I said enough is enough and sold my gear. Now I am relegated to old man's beer leagues playing forward. Should of stuck with playing ice, never got hurt playing ice and all my knee injuries came from playing roller hockey because you can't slide side to side once you go down and lock your knees in the butterfly. I was a very active goalie and would be all over the place so I kept rolling over on my knee when it was in that locked position and pop, tore it all up. Couple other people landed on me when I was in the butterfly and ripped it up as well.

Tim, I have noticed a lot of strain on my knees as well playing deck hockey... I honestly don't enjoy goaltending on deck. I just got new pads for Christmas and I get to finally break them in a little once summer break rolls around.

Yeah Pitt dodge a huge bullet with that no goal call which would of made it 4-1, that's part of winning the cup though is you have to have luck on your side.

How is that? I don't know much about how hockey works, but it seems like the only thing the league can do to make sure a team gets through is to ref with bias towards the team, but like I said I'm not sure.
Additionally, if the league can do something to keep a team in the playoffs, of course they'll keep Crosby in it; like him or not he's very popular and people love to watch him, and the entire National Hockey League runs on money, exists for the purpose of money and continues so people can make money. And Crosby makes the league a lot of money.
We had a hockey team here in Macon for a couple years, which is what got me interested in the sport. When I first started watching NHL games, I decided I liked the Red Wings because,well, I thought their jerseys were pretty. Red is my favorite color. To heck with telent.

I don't have much faith in the Habs beating the Caps but if they do that would be pretty rad. Gary Bettman doesn't like Ovechkin as much as Crosby so the NHL won't keep Washington in the running (yes, I am a hockey conspiracy nut...)

I didn't say it was rigged, because the players still have to play. What I said was that the league would do whatever it had to do to have CRYSBY on TV as much as possible. So if it means giving him EVERY call when he's tapped by another player, or calling back an "iffy" goal to keep a game close, then so-be-it. Anything to have their golden child on TV, and making them $$. Although Ovechkin is the best player in the world, 12 year old girls aren't putting his poster up in their locker. Now, CINDY Crosby on the other hand, is an effeminate poster boy, and he does generate $$ for the league(like him or not). OF COURSE THE LEAGUE officiates in the playoffs to favor(and protect) their stars and popular teams, and NO it's not stupid. All leagues, ALL sports. They did it for Gretzky, Lemieux and now Crosby. Did you ever see the blown call against the flyers in the 1980(i believe) playoffs against the Isles?? The guy was 3 feet offsides, and 2 officials saw it. Neither made the call b/c of the Islanders Dynasty. Check it out....
I'm not a bandwagon hater, i'm a priviledged, sissy hater. This kids been HANDED everything since he was 15. That's the problem I have with him. As far as Ovechkin, he's not my favorite player, but he IS the best player in the world and I respect his overall game. To be honest, I think Malkin is a great player who is under rated on that team.
I don't question stats, or Crosby's offensive skill. There's no sense in denying that. BUT, I do question his heart and his toughness. He shy's away from contact. Defense is NOT his strong point, and i've even seen him cherry pick. BUSH LEAGUE. You know what i AM actually impressed with?? His improvement in faceoffs. He was terrible a few years ago, and now he's solid. I just don't like the kid, that's all. It's just my opinion, and I don't expect anyone to agree.
Malkin is a great player. I agree hardcore with that. I just personally don't care where Crosby came from, how he got there... he is a great player and thats what I like. It is a sport. These next few games will be interesting to watch to see who plays who next
I think the Flyers CAN beat the CAPS or Buffalo. But, With all the injuries thst the FLyers have suffered, I don't like their chances playing the PENS in the Conference(if they get there) finals now....

Out of the 3 Habs, Pens, Bost. I would probable prefer the Pens as Halak and Rassk are the best goalies in the playoffs right now. Granted that was only the 1st round but Fluery looked anything but great in that last round and you saw what happened with Washington, amazing offense w/ garbage defense and subpar goaltending. Great offense will only take you so far, you have to have your goalie playing great and have solid D in the process to make it all the way, look at how Pens played last year, Fleury played amazing and carried his team in down the stretch, and in the pressure situation.
Now with that said were stuck with Boston, a team much like our own. Build around grit and power, but with much much better goaltending than we have right now. I love Bouch and all but he didn't have to steal any games last round and he made all the "expected" saves he was supposed to while he never had the game resting on his shoulders like Halak did in game 6&7. I think Boston won the season series between us 5-2 or 5-3 so this one will defiantly not be a cake walk like the last series.

THAT was a tough game to watch. The FLy boys showed ALOT of heart to come all of the way back. But, the B's deserved to win it. Unless the Flyers can score the 1st goal in game 2, they're in trouble.
Montreal looked tired, and overmatched. I'd like to see them go at least 6 games.....
