Boba Fett withdrawl... life after the costume.

If the costume sits in the closet or only gets put on display THEN I can see Boba withdrawl kicking in. But, if you troop it then it'll keep you going for years with upgrades, replacement of worn and/or damaged parts, adjustments etc etc - There is no end to Fett, just the beginning of a new phase of life.

when i got "done" with my rotj i was in that same boat for a while, but i kept coming back. now i'm getting excited about things again; looking for stuff to upgrade. s1p's rubber knees, the (hopefully) soon to be reinone boots, the ms3 i've got sitting here staring at me, and either fp or mow doing jedi gauntlets all have me pretty stoked. and with winter* coming on it's time to get working on costume projects again.

* winter is for costumes, summer is for my other passion and that's working on classic schwinn stingrays.

I've been "done" mine for over two years now, and at first was a bit bored. The thrill of the hunt was on for so long that once I was "done" and had to turn off the hunt it became weird to just look at what I had created. As time went by I found myself still being interesting in all of the reading and new discoveries, pictures, info., etc. and then coming here daily ever since. While I may not actively participate in many ways, in others I love the wealth of information that is still available.

While there have been some still further uber accurate ways to improve my costume to keep the project alive it's simply cost prohibitive for such minor nuances. You have to draw a line in the sand somewhere....at least I did. It's a constant temptation to go back, or do over but I don't think I would like my ESB any more even if I did.

I still have a Snowtrooper costume in a box plus all of the soft parts that I've had for about two years, but have been wrapped up with so many home improvements that I just don't have nor want to spend the time to finish it for display.

I feel the way sometimes too. When I look around, and there's nothing to do, I get a little sad. Like the feeling of "Ok, now what?"

We just love this stuff.

:)

man, I've got 7 501st approved costumes. NONE of them is ever "finished." Although I can completely understand what you mean about the boredom. I put a lot of energy and time into Boba and when he was "complete" I felt a big hole open up in my life. So I just started more major builds. ;) Keep tweaking, it'll help fill the time.

i feel like its a lifestyle we're mando, during our "missions" things get broke or theres better upgrades. i guess you cud always think of it like a car,new tires and such, but you just got to remember that its the engine that powers it,and i highly doubt anyone here is gonna lose heart.

personally I started another costume :)

I've called mine done about 4 times now, and just can't quit!! I kinda go in supurts. I work on it for 3 months or so, and improve something, then I'll quit for 6 months, and then go right back. I'm planning to make a new jumpsuit this winter, among other things. Just can't let it end!!!! LOL

never said anything bout not haveing multiple cars =P

my current project is outfiting my squad with beskar'gam so far i have me and one other,4 more to go so yeah fun stuff

These costumes are never done. I continuously find parts to upgrade and tweak. At the very least there are always repairs and mods to make after trooping in them. Besides my Fett I have a Vader, a TK that I'm converting to a TD, a snowtrooper still in a box, a BSG Grunt half completed, Jayne from Firefly, and Indiana Jones. Yeah... I'm NEVER at a loss for things to do. Oh yeah and I'm also building an R2-D2, a mouse droid, a Gonk droid and a full sized moving Dewback.

Yes... I said moving Dewback. It's over 16 feet long.

I just go back to playing more video games... HOORAY FOR VIDEO GAMES! That or spending time with friends and family... usually still playing video games... HAHAHAAA...

Yes... I said moving Dewback. It's over 16 feet long.

Are you making a run of jumpsuits??

Hey guys same here, I 've been a member here for a long time and in the begining it was all very exciting and a rushing feeling to build the Fett suit. Now that I am finished I find myself upgrading its and bits here and there but most of all I am bored. So I guess my next step will be a clone trooper armor.

I do fit into the category of one who doesn't log on as much as he use to. None of my costumes are "done." While I don't upgrade as much as I use to, I do find myself giving my Fetts and Vader overhauls every now and then. But I am not on here as much as I was since my workload outside of TDH has been significantly higher than it was last year or the year before. Part of that comes with being CO of the DSG. But the biggest part has to due with a few promotions I got. I love my job, but usually I am working on the order of 10-12 hours per day (sometimes longer.) So it's really a result of lack of available time.

Man this is a wallet draining addiction...

A TD, a TK , a TB and a Vader for me. I am looking into Fett. I am nearing comp on my Ghostbuster and might start a Samurai Vader set.

It just makes it worth it when you see those kids.
