BC Children's Hospital response to the walk for miracles

My fellow Fett-Heads,

Since getting my Fett done and approved, I've been going pretty nuts with trying to troop a smuch as possible, so with that and with dealing with my lovely wife's horrible health issues she's been suffering the passed 2 years, I haven't been as active as I wanted to be here. Reading and lurking, but not much time to really sit and post like I used to....but I plan to change that as best I can with as much news and reports of experiences as Fett to my TDH Family.

This is an event that took place Sunday, June 13th, 2010

Yesterday my wife Lisa (working on her Palpatine), our 3 sons and my brother-in-law (working on an RC and TX) Jason and I took part in the Wal*Mart Walk For Miracles at Stanley Park in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

We had raised $300 in donations and pledges under the team name of the 501st Legion and on behalf of the Badlands Garrison membership, because of our previous assistance in helping the local promotion company push the SWIC and them giving my wife and I tickets, we donated 6 Star Wars In Concert tickets to the charity at my wife's brilliant suggestion.

This afternoon, my wife and I received an email from the BC Children's Hospital Foundation in response :

501st Legion: Vader’s Fist

Dear Badlands Garrison members:

On behalf of BC Children’s Hospital Foundation and the Walmart Associates of the lower mainland, thank you so much for your generous donation of Star Wars in Concert tickets and your appearance at the 2010 Walmart Walk for Miracles. Your kind gesture will allow us to provide additional recognition to members of the Langley Walmart store, whose associates are very much deserving of such a reward. Indeed, the Langley team has surpassed all other Walmart store teams in Canada for their incredible total fundraising achievement this year. Your donation will allow us to honour these champions for BC kids in such a way that we could not do otherwise.
As you may know, BC Children’s Hospital is the province’s only tertiary care centre for sick and injured children. We see an average of more than 600 patients each day, and 67 per cent of them come from areas outside the city of Vancouver.
By contributing to the success of the Walmart Walk for Miracles through your donation of concert tickets and your time at the event, you are helping to make miracles for the most sick and injured children in our province.
Again, thank you for your contribution to child health. Your generosity is appreciated.

Best regards,
Aaron Sanderson,
Philanthropy Officer
THANK YOU BC FOR RAISING $16,501,473 FOR THE 23rd ANNUAL BC CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL MIRACLE WEEKEND!

I hope that you all in the Legion are as proud as we are.
FOR THE BADLANDS!
FOR THE 501ST!
FOR THE EMPIRE!

FYI The last picture, the parents actually asked me to aim my blaster at their sleeping child. That was the strangest pose request I have had yet, and there have been some doozies, I tell ya'.
