    BBF Harness Installation Guide

A few months back, I completed a installation guide for my harness kits. I had been distributing it to buyers upon their purchase.

It has occurred to me that this guide my be helpful to anyone who has a "proper" harness, regardless of the maker. Below is a link to the PDF version. It can also be found on my Harness sale thread in the Cargo Hold.

I hope you will find this guide helpful. Enjoy!

BBF JP Harness Instl Guide_Mar 2012.pdf

NOTE: This guide is written specifically for the BBF Stainless Steel Jet Pack Harness Kit. It is as concise, but brief as possible. There are no extraneous steps. BBF installers should follow the guide as outlined, heeding all Notes, Cautions and Warning!

    Re: BBF Harness Installation Guide

    Hi Terry-

Thanks for posting this! One question I had was concerning the lower hooks. When attaching the hooks to my JP, the heads of the screws aren't flush to the hook metal itself, keeping the crossbar from being fully-engaged with the hook (the bar hits the heads, and never fully sits within the hook).

It sounds like I've installed it incorrectly, but even after reading through the guide, I'm not sure where I went wrong. It's possible that the crossbar isn't bent fully - but I'm not sure that would address the colliding of the crossbar with the screwheads.

Any pointers would be appreciated! Thanks in advance...

You should have flat tapered machine screwed that dont have anything to get in the way.

Thanks for the heads up, F4R. I'll double-check the hardware that came with the JP, but I don't believe flat-headed machine screws were included. Either way, its a good idea to swap them out for flat-headed ones - but wanted to confirm the hardware/installation.

    Wait!!!

If this is my kit, use the supplied button head screws. The lower hooks should fit tightly onto the cross bar. The button head screws were considered and made part of the design.

As you said, check the angle of the cross bar. Lay the harness onto the body of the JP and adjust the angle of the crossbar ends accordingly.

PM or call me if you need further assistance.

    Cheers.
