    Awkward Question

I did'nt want to have to ask this question, but I searched and could'nt find an answer so here goes. Once suited up, how does one go about their personal "restroom" buisness.:o I can see a no.1 happening with a lot of difficulty, but a no.2 calls for a total re-suit right? I don't have a complete suit yet, but I'm just thinking ahead you know. Considering the cost, I will be wearing my suit A LOT. I hope no one thinks I'm being inappropriate.

My thoughts exactly... If you figure it out, let us know!

On a more serious note, the first pointer would be to not drink a lot of fluids before a troop and stay away from caffeine. You would be surprised how your body reacts when it knows that it CAN'T go...you sorta become a camel.

Well its simple, just make a hole in the cod/buttplate and weather it a little like a blast hole. And then... you know the rest.

    Re: Awkward Question

Whenever I troop, I can drink gallons of water and not even think about going because I sweat it all out.

    Re: Awkward Question

All jokes aside, this can get serious if you are planning on "wearing it alot". Well for every trooper out there, I recommend finding out a way to install some sort of zipper. underneath your cod and your backside in case of an emergency. Holding your urine can result in painful kidney stones. You might have to surgically remove them, or if you are lucky, or rather unlucky, you might be able to urinate them out. Now the other end is even worse. If you hold any fecal matter in, it will start to harden and when you do get to the bathroom after 5+ hours of holding it in, you are risking thrashing your colon, in which a VERY painful hemoroid could occur. Hemoroids are nasty and will actually prevent you from going number two unless you get it surgically fixed. Just a tiny scratch can do that. I wont go into further detail unless somebody wants me to, in that case pm me. But holding your belongings in any way can harm you. Water is good when you sweat, because you need to replace the water in your body and electrolytes.

I find a 50/50 mix of gatorade to water does the trick just well. It isnt for the taste necesarily, but for the re-supplying of the needed sugars, electrolytes and h2o your body needs. So eat, drink, and drink lots, because collapsing in the middle of a con will be a little embaressing dont ya think?

According to Bulloch, the original jumpsuit separated at the flaps on the abdomen with a zipper.

    I'm thinking...

Just sew in a crotch zipper into your flight suit.

    Then

    Do this:

    Re: Awkward Question

I think intalling a ful round zipper inna 2 piece suit would be best and to keep it where the belts hide it

    Re: Awkward Question

Usually when I troop it's only for like 3-4 hours which isnt bad for holding it. I mean If you dont drink much before you should be fine. Then maybe like half way through a troop if possible drink some water or something to hydrate yourself. That way by the time you have to go you'll be taking off your costume anyway. I've never had a problem but my cod piece is also velcroed so I just tear it off if I really needed to.

    Re: Awkward Question

You will sweat a lot of fluids out. I live in Florida and a few minutes in the sun can seriously get you sweating when wearing several layers of gear. Eating food can help to keep the fluids from being all thats running through your system, so have a granola bar and some crackers to slow that fluid down! It's extremely important to keep your body sustained when in gear, it can be a bit suffocating. Just try not to starve yourself!

Oh and for the record my jumpsuit is button down on the entire front with snaps, and the COD is pretty easy to remove due to the magic of some well placed velcro. Makes doing buisness not too difficult. Numero 2 on the other hand... well I've yet to find myself in that type of prediciment, and I pray I will never have to figure that mess out! I do reccommend handing your bucket, jet pack, gloves, and anything else you can think of to a buddy while you do your thing.

Once your trooping you can drink with no problem, your sweating it out.

Just don't drink too much ahead of time..lol
I always make myself go before I suit up.

Good call Tim! My flight suit has two-way zips. It's a handy feature when in a pinch.
