I love the hood, this is amazing. I'm looking forward to see a complete costume.
ever since i played the first game ive wanted to do this costume, thats cool someone on here is actually doing it, good luck
Thnx!
Here\s the hood, padded and all. It sits as it sits, hardly changing shape, like an animated piece of cloth, pretty rigid.
Also, theres no light shinning through it from above or the back, so it\ s pretty dark around my face in regular daylight.
![]()
RBF, what kind of fabric are you using for that hood?
I don't know really. It's a very structured linnen/cotton blend. Works like a charm. I did had to patch all the cutting lines as it ravels pretty easily when just cut.
weathered it, This is my final Go-sign, I think i can do this without looking like a goofball...
they are making some real cool looking replicas now of the weapons and some of the suit
Looks great as I said before![]()
well here\ s the tunic:
Things to be done: The hood has to be leveled out so it is straight at the front, also add some equal weathering to boths sides. The bird beak of the hood has to point more to the front.
The red sash and grey girls shirt are there to just... help framing what this is supposed to become... so that will eventually be replaced by the parts that they should be...
well here it is:
Also, the symbols in the publicity shots show alot more detail... yet in the game you can't make out more then just a few random black blurs. So I thought the first4figures statue was the road to go...
The beak is pointing forward now:
And this is the little secret behind it:
A piece of PVC with some velcro on it is holding it in shape perfectly.
Great idea RBF! I like your build so far!
PS: Nice xmas tree! :-)
I really like this carracter... Great work with the costume![]()
Thnx guys!! I appreciate it!!
The work has been slowed down as I am now working in my new house.
We want to move in their at the end of january, so progress on this costume will be delayed atleast untill after that.
Yeah, got some work done!!
The dagger... made out of wood and pvc piping:
one for scaling..

that hidden blade is going to be MEAN!
Not much, but a little update!!
![]()
Canīt see the new picture bro ... something wrong? Great costume BTW!!!![]()
Looking great! cant wait to see the final result!
Ya got pm![]()
I don't know is you were planning on making the hidden blade but I was stumbling around on the internet the other month and I found these
http://liamodonovan.deviantart.com/a...ough-129757398
http://liamodonovan.deviantart.com/a...gh-2-129757541
http://liamodonovan.deviantart.com/a...gh-3-129757627
They are the 3 stages of that specific design. Hope you like em.
Thnx people!! Dunno why the pic doesn' t show... It's clear here.
Anyways, thnx for the heads up, but I' ve got an idea for the hidden blade... not as spring loaded, but it' ll pop in and out of it's holder with a bit of luck.
The designs I found aren't exactly *spring loaded* but it uses a clock spring. But I'm sure your way will work just as well (do you mean grav/inirtia? I would recomend something that doesn't pop out when you don't want it too *scoff* clock spring *scoff*
Thanks to a tutorial on youtube, check my clip to go to his channel!! I had to modify it a wee bit though, as the rail wasn' t the same, and I used a pvc blade that still has to be sanded and painted and bladiebla. This is just the bare skeleton, so it needs a hull of some sort, that can be decorated.
a small clip:

I know that tutorital!! lol!
Nice work man, and the dagger looks fantastic!
wait, is that the bfx hidden gun thingy. (yes I am specific)
erh... no, it's a guidance system for a drawer, sawed, bolted and sprinloaded after quite a bit of work.
oh..................
Thanks for the great comments guys, that really fills this thread with great messages.
Please keep it a little eh... normal.
the blade itself needs some extra paint and probably some blood painted on it.
You nailed it! Looks very good. Could you make a picture of you wielding it?
Grtz,
Thnx!!
No sorry, I donnot have the gauntlet ready yet. I' ll be working on that the follow 2 weeks or something. Once the gauntlet is finished I' ll put a clip on youtube or something!!
Thnx again!!
Whoa.. that looks sweet.
Thnx!!
Well, like everyone before me has said, that's fantastic work, bro. Absolutely outstanding.
Thanks!!
Just the base gaunt. The detailed armor pieces have to go over these parts.
Also, the blade can be extended further, but I donnot have put on the definitive string or the ring that should go on it.
You even cut off your finger! This must mean a lot to you
Looks great so far!
My Ezio is progressing as well![]()
Ok, having recently finished this game and loving it, I am pretty tickled to see someone working on this! Looking forward to seeing more progress.
Thnx people!!
I have to admit, that in terms of costuming it's not something I've never done before. But life is extraordinarily busy at his point and it's gonna get way much busier in the upcoming year. So it's nice to work on something that is... fun to do. Even though it's not ground-breaking or anything. It has loads of pockets, leather works, weapons and it leaves room for some nice action poses for pics... Sounds fun to me![]()
Looks fantastic! I really like the solution for the hood as you nailed the look!
That means alot!! It was much work to get it to look this way, with a lot of sewing and cheating on techniques... but it worked!!
Thanks again!!
I finished the gauntlet, the end bit of this clip shows the thing as it is now:
Not much progress, though I have begun to work on the red sash that is behind the waist belt itself. It's taking forever to complete this thing...
Perhaps not the first choice of material when thinking about a leather part, but I think it' ll be fine once I' m done detailing it and painting it.

I' ve done the waist belt and the sash, came out ok

By far... one of the best AC costumes I've seen! Nicely done! Looking forward to the final.
This looks great so far! love the wrist blade.
Thanks guys!!!
@forcebewithya: I realised this... a while ago, but I think we have up to 3 or 4 costumes now of the same characters...
It' s not on-purpose, I hope you donnot mind... for one thing I have to admit you have great taste!!! :P
lol that's fine by me I actually really enjoy seeing other people's take on costumes I've done. I scour the internet looking for new AC cosplays lately when I'm bored. But yeah yours does look cool. Which ones do we have all in common I know Link, Fett, Altair...any others?
I meant to ask you something though. One thing I LOVE about your costumes is how your metal bits always look a bit rusty what method do you use to give it that effect. I usually weather my costumes but usually with darker black colors.
Forcebewitya.
Ha ha ha, yeah those 3, that about sums it up... but for me that's about my entire costume gallery :P ' cept for Snake
Thanks for the compliment!!! That means alot coming from someone who has done the same projects with an incredible amount of time and detail build into them.
My weathering usually consists of very bright colors, like red, blue and bright brown.
I spray or rub those over the allready painted part. After that I might add washes in the same color, or the one of the base color.
Once that is done I tone down the whole thing with an antracite, black or grey matt primer... depending on what color the part needs to be. So metal parts some times recieve a final silver or grey primer coat, after the weathering layers.
I hope that helps a bit? That's the way I do most of my parts anyways.
I absolutely adore the Altair threads. I have been contemplating tackling them, but just never get around to it.
Chest symbol is bogus, just something to hold everything in place.
Need to do more knives, boots, symbols for the scabbard, the right arm bracer and ofcourse the trousers and sweater for underneath it all...

It's almost complete now....

A little make-up test, has to be perfected, but it's a first try.
The scar is to prominent but might make it stand out more at a convention.
I' ll test some more:
I' m all done now, I' ll wear this costume upcoming weekend at an event.
Excellent work my friend. Attention to detail is amazing.
I know it's jumping the gun a bit but after your finished up with this do you think you might have a go at Ezio? I would love to see that.
Thank you! I appreciate it!!
Well... Time is gonna be the main thing. I initially chose for Altair because I like the character more.
Who knows, I might one day.
WOW!
Great job.
Love the costume.
LOVE IT!
Thanks, that is great to hear!!!
It' s done!!!
Had a blast at F.A.C.T.S. 2010 in belgium last weekend, it was absolutly great!!!

i've got a couple of questions. 1 - when you extend the wrist blade does it lock into the extended position? and 2 - does it hamper your ability to pull those daggers out?
it's a great costume man, you really look like you walked right out of the video game, but with better graphics, lol!
ha ha, thanks!!
No the knife extends for as long as I stretch my hand. When I make a fist the knife jumps back in.
This is actually... simple to make and it does the trick for the audience... It's like tapping "up" in the game... the knife shoots out and is almost immediatly withdrawn. It just works. I might figure a way out with a lock pin that keeps it extracted but... well the reactions to the way it popped out now were quite litterly open jaws of awesomeness... I was amazed byt hat actually....
My throwing knives are not withdrawable at all. I didn' t want them to be, in order to prevent trouble with law enforcement.
The sword and dagger are withdrawable, though held firmly in place.
What make up techniques did you use for the scar? I havent tried to do a scar yet because I couldnt decide on the best way to do it. I have a bunch of stage make up maybe I should just play around with it.
Forcebewitya.
I used skin glue and then dip in a wee bit of liquid latex along the scar. Make sure the glue area is wider then the scar or the sides will let go. Once it dries add more skin glue over the whole thing and dip another round of latex over it.
then make-up your entire facve to finish it.
Here's a better look:
![]()
ah ok, I dont have any skin glue in my makeup kit that I know of unless that's the same as spirit gum? Looks really good with the make up too. I wear make up in my Link costumes but I havent done so in my Assassin's Creed stuff because I worry about it getting on the hood and covering up my already light facial hair. You have the perfect stache for Altair though I gotta say!
Forcebewitya.
Thanks man!!!
But I gotta say, I color my facial hair... :P I'm blond/red, so it is pretty light aswell. Rubbing it with make-up really helps in accentuating it enough.
The lenses + darker skin color + scar really does finish the look.
Here's something else... little difficult to take with me to cons but still... makes for cool pics!! :P
It was getting dark, so it is not entirly sharp... but still, I liked it!!!
More soon!!
Nice! I have yet to get Horse pictures, I did get some camel ones with Altair though. Well that's encouraging to know that you have blonde/red facial hair because I do too it's like blonde, red and black all mixed together lol. I gotta grow it out for the brotherhood Ezio costume too.
Forcebewitya.
I'm looking forward to that one!!!!
Test a bit out with the face paint and stuff. Get a ref pic and start putting it on, it really finishes the look!!!
When I put my hood on a wear a bandana/baclava to cover my schminked up face. Then when I am suited up, my wife pulls the baclava over my ears. It covers the hood from getting make-up on it and my hair is tucked away inside. Works very well!!
This is by far the best AC costume i have ever seen. good work love the attention to detail.
Sorry to bring up this thread again, but I thought this really should be posted here:
My baby girl is 6 months now. Since I have trooped in Altair for the release of Brotherhood here in A'dam, I have had a degree of contact with ubisoft.
When they learned me and my wife had a little girl, they send over this jumper that said:
Assassin's Creed Revelations: The baby assassin's edition.
That and a note congratulating us. Ubisoft (Leon), you are the best!!!!
Here's the pics:
Also, I've made a film clip that you might like of Altair and a horse:
here's the link:
‪Assassin's Creed - Altair and Reportero.wmv‬‏ - YouTube
Enjoy!!
Nice costume! I'm working on one myself, but could you make a tutorial for the hood? I don't know how to make it look right.
Also, how did you make the knife out of PVC? Is that a material, or do you carve a pipe?
Anyway, awesome costume! Yours is the best I've ever seen!
If you're still answering questions for this, could you tell me what material this is? (For the Belt)
I didn't realize how old this thread was but **** good costume. I finally beat Revelations yesterday and was toying about an Altair costume. It's so simple, yet judging from your WIP, so intricate.
this is just gobsmackingly AWESOME!
Altair is my favourite assassin out of all of them but with AC3 coming out soon I'm looking into doing an Aveline De Grandpre costume. if anyone is mightily interested i'll post up some pics once i'm done
Brilliant Costume!
Hi!
